We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Fabiana Faria-Mata. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Fabiana below.
Alright, Fabiana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
Instead of having just one hero, I believe I have at least four. From my parents for taking the risk to come to the US to give me and my brother a better life; my brother showing me his resilience, to my husband and daughter, for showing me that your home is where your heart is.
Each one of them has such a huge impact in my life that I would lie if I say just one of them is my hero.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Since I was a little kid I’ve been intrigued by photography, the art that represents to have the incredible power to immortalize a memory. Back in Venezuela I was blessed enough to travel pretty often with my parents, back then my camera was a point and shoot, but it was still fun! I remember editing my images and posting them on Facebook, just for the fun of it… Fast forward almost 10 years, now I have my own business doing what I love! My mission is to show the World’s beauty one frame at the time, and with that in mind, I have been able to also immortalize my customer’s beauty and memories!
It is truly a blessing to get to know somebody by being their photographer. I think, it honestly is the best job ever.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
As I get older and as my family grows, I don’t think my mission has necessarily changed, it has evolved. I still want to show the World’s beauty one frame at the time, however, I want to also show others how to do so. I would love to start hosting workshops to teach all I know about photography and creative process to others.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Instagram has helped to grow my business, specially during the pandemic, I was able to grow my followers during then. However, as I go back to my full time position and as a new mom, word-of-mouth has become my best/biggest source of new clients!
