We recently connected with Fa-Harra Farmer and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Fa-Harra , thanks for joining us today. Do you have an agent or someone (or a team) that helps you secure opportunities and compensation for your creative work? How did you meet you, why did you decide to work with them, why do you think they decided to work with you?
I currently manage myself. I do have a team called iVision Digital but they’re more like family to me than a team. We all met on the music scene in Memphis,Tn. I saw something uniquely talented in each of them that inspired me to want to build something new and innovative on a global platform. I believe they found me uniquely different as well and trusted my business savvy and general knowledge.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I grew up surrounded by music. My mother was a songwriter and I’ve felt connected to music for as long as I can remember. I created a name for myself on the Memphis Music scene, which led to the birth of iVision Digital, Fa-HarraCo.com, iVD Press, and iVD Network.
The road hasn’t always been smooth. In the beginning, I struggled a lot financially. What I learned along the way is that business isn’t just about the money it’s also about the time you put into it and the risks you’re willing to take.
I am currently the CEO of iVision Digital, iVD Press, and the iVD Network. I also host my own TV Show, The Mane Event 901, and co-host The Kings of Company. I’m equally proud of all of them and looking forward to continued success. My ability to take old methods and create an entirely new way of presenting them is what built my fan base and sets me apart from others.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn literally everything I was taught. I had reached a very dark place in my life where I was miserable and sad all the time. And, It was frustrating because at that time I wasn’t even sure what the problem was, I just knew something wasn’t right. I had been programmed to always be independent and do everything for myself which caused me to miss some opportunities and not ask for help when I should have. Life taught me that we all need each other. I believe that we are all a collective of a single consciousness here on earth to share our experiences and grow in love together. We can consciously and deliberately create the world that we all want to live in if we could just put down our personas and egos long enough to see it. There is strength in numbers and none of us can do it alone.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started by researching YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. I also ordered rubber bands and flyers with my social media platforms on them and passed them out to people wherever I went.
My advice is to stay consistent and do your research because the algorithms change every day. Engage with your audience as often as possible. Also, commenting on Influencers posts that resonate with you is a great way to get peoples attention and grow your own following.
