We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ethan Chute a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ethan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?

I started Ethan Thomas in 2020. (Crazy right?) I wanted to take a chance, and showcase my creativity, but by bringing others visions to life. If I could be remembered for anything? I hope it is that during the most stressful season of wedding or event planning, We made the process easy, calm, and fun, and you became like family to us. And that we brought every vision and dream to life, so that in 20 years you can look back on photos and videos, and get just as excited as you were the day of.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Ethan Chute, and I am the owner of Ethan Thomas, A floral and event design company here in Memphis, Tn, I started this business because one, I have been obsessed with flowers for as long as I can remember, and two, I have been in the event world for a long time. A friend of mine in 2020 took a chance on me and hired me to be their event designer, and from there Ethan Thomas was born. In three years I have had the ability to bring over 50 Weddings and other events to life. We provide everything from floral design for your event, Partial and Full planning options, which include booking vendors, lining up entertainment, designing, renting. you name it. We will work with you from the ideas on paper at the very beginning to the day of execution, creating a flawless experience. But floral and event design is our specialty. You need it to look pretty? Make a statement? Be outside the box? We can do that here at Ethan Thomas.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

You are the face of your brand. Don’t be afraid to network. Sign up for networking events, Introduce yourself to as many people as you can. Have the past clientele to prove it. If you do good work, your reputation will follow it. We live in the day and age of technology, and social media. Your social media should represent your work, and be a place for people to “pre screen” you before they even reach out!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

I always want to be different. So my largest goal is to stand out and be different in a pool of MANY amazing creative floral and event designers. I want to curate beauty with the clients visions, I want to create something magnificent, and I want to educate along the way! I love when I have clients who want to learn more about the florals they’ve selected, What works well together, what plays nice etc.
