Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Erin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
The couple’s positive experience is my main objective with wedding photography. Over the years, I have added elements of surprise and delight for my clients. From hand written letters, thoughtful gifts, and now, curated and exclusive events!
This specific relationship between a vendor and a client is so intimate when you are being trusted to capture their love and create images that tell their story. Throughout the consultation call to the follow up texts and emails, I attempt to learn who the couple are, what’s important to them, and what they expect. When I get an idea, it is in my nature to deliver something unexpected that brings joy and lets couples know that I listen and appreciate them.
There is a lack of community in the wedding industry amongst brides, or the main planning partner. Expos are vendor to client and not bride to bride. Who are the peers they ask questions to and compare experiences with? I am curating small and exclusive events this year for my booked brides where they can meet over a complimentary activity and discuss the wedding planning process. I also have one event coming up to treat past brides who can share their opinions on what they would and wouldn’t do if they were planning all over again!
This is a brand new concept and I hope they find relief and an additional small event made just to celebrate them in their engagement season of life!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Photography by Erin B is a nearly two decade long expression of my creativity capturing moments and telling stories of the lives of others. It has evolved into wedding photography solely. Weddings are photographed with thousands of hours of professional experience with hundreds of wedding days captured.
The experience relies on clear and comfortable communication to plan timelines that allow you to feel fully present throughout your day. Sneak peeks are provided within days of your event to share prior to the full gallery delivery. A caring presentation call to get your confidence built to navigate your image gallery, and access to an heirloom quality art lab for prints, albums, and wall art.
Couples receive an elite experience alongside someone who feels like a friend.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Eventhough we know we are living important moments during events like weddings, we never fully equate the significance of the moments we lived until we look back upon the photos.
Photos are the only way our mind can live in a past moment, and see a memory exactly as it was. People’s faces no longer look the same, and some are gone. Old friends are replaced with new. Children grow up.
Half of my own life has been dedicated to capturing milestones for others. Photos I have taken are in albums around the world, and even on at least one headstone I know of.
Photographs are how we will remember eachother. Using the hours and days of my life to capture stories and the legacy of others is an honor. I couldn’t think of a more rewarding career than the one I have been gifted by circumstance.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
A great experience for the couple and wonderful relationships with other vendors are key factors in why I have a positive reputation in the wedding industry.
I am available to my couples for open communication, and do everything I say I am going to do (often more). Gifts and deliverables are great, but how they felt with me would be the main topic of a 5 star review!
When it comes to vendor relationships, I suggest focusing on building friendships outside of “work” with people you truly connect with. Creative services are atypical from other jobs in the way that we can build our own community of co-workers. The venues with the staff who know your name or recommend you are the ones I prefer working a wedding at! If they have a positive opinion of me from the start, the day flows much easier!
Also, offering feedback and counsel to fellow creatives builds a strong reputation that you are someone to look up to in the industry. Being open and available to help others grow is not only fulfilling in a career, but personally as well.
