Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Emily Barth. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Emily, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
There’s a version of me that almost didn’t go to Paris.
The version that overthought the timing.
The money.
Leaving my babies.
Whether I was “ready” to stand in rooms I used to only dream about.
But there was another voice, quieter, but stronger.
The one that said: this is what you’ve been praying for.
So I took the risk.
I got on the plane not having it all figured out… just knowing that obedience would take me further than comfort ever could.
And Paris?
It didn’t just change my portfolio, it changed my perspective.
26+ hours of nonstop work.
Backstage chaos.
Faces from all over the world trusting my hands.
Moments where I realized… I belonged there.
Not because I had it all together.
But because I was willing to show up anyway.
That trip stretched me.
Refined me.
Reminded me that the doors God opens don’t require perfection, just faith and movement.
Taking that risk didn’t just elevate my artistry…
It introduced me to a version of myself I’ll never outgrow.
And now?
There’s no going back to playing small.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
About Me
I’m Emily, the artist behind Emily Barth Beauty.
I’ve been in the beauty industry for over a decade, and what started as a passion quickly became a calling. Makeup, to me, has never been about covering—it’s about enhancing, refining, and bringing out the confidence that’s already there.
My artistry lives in that space between soft glam and high fashion. I love creating looks that feel timeless in person but still translate beautifully on camera—whether that’s for a bride on her wedding day or a model walking a runway.
Over the years, my career has taken me from local bridal mornings in Ohio to working backstage at Paris Fashion Week. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that talent will take you far—but faith, consistency, and the willingness to step out of your comfort zone will take you even further.
I’m not just an artist—I’m a mother, a woman of faith, and someone who understands how powerful it is to feel confident in your own skin. That perspective is something I bring into every single client experience.

My Brand
Emily Barth Beauty is built on intention, excellence, and experience.
I created this brand to offer more than just makeup—it’s about how you feel when you sit in my chair. Every detail matters to me, from the products I use to the energy I bring into the room.
Whether I’m working with a bride, a brand, or backstage at a show, my goal is always the same: to deliver elevated, polished beauty that feels effortless and authentic to you.
My style is rooted in luxury, but my approach is personal. I want every client to feel seen, taken care of, and confident walking into whatever moment they’re stepping into.
This brand is a reflection of growth, risk, and stepping into rooms I once only dreamed of—and I’m just getting started.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
If I’m being honest, the biggest way I’ve grown my clientele wasn’t one perfect strategy, it was a decision.
A decision to stop waiting until I felt ready… and just go.
For me, that looked like putting myself in rooms I had no business second-guessing—like Paris Fashion Week. I didn’t have everything figured out, but I knew if I kept playing small, I’d stay exactly where I was.
That one decision shifted everything.
But beyond that, my growth has really come from relationships. I’ve built my business through real connections, brides referring brides, people experiencing my work and trusting me, and genuinely caring about every person who sits in my chair.
I don’t just show up to “do makeup” I show up to give an experience. And people remember how you make them feel.
I also had to step into my business, not just my artistry. Setting clear pricing, having structure, and leading my clients with confidence changed the type of clientele I attracted.
And if I’m being real… I stopped waiting to be chosen.
I started reaching out.
I started creating my own opportunities.
I started putting myself in conversations I used to feel intimidated by.
So if I had to sum it up—
My most effective strategy has been betting on myself before I felt ready… and showing up like I already belonged.
And that’s what changed everything.

Have you ever had to pivot?
There was a version of me that lived a “safe” life.
A steady 9–5.
A consistent paycheck.
A path that made sense on paper.
But deep down, I knew I was created for more.
Walking away from my corporate job wasn’t just a career decision, it was one of the scariest leaps of faith I’ve ever taken.
I had a family.
Responsibilities.
A life that depended on stability.
And the truth is… I didn’t do it alone.
My husband was a huge part of that decision.
He believed in me when I was still questioning myself.
He supported the vision before it fully made sense.
He gave me the space to step into what I knew God was calling me to do.
That kind of support? It changes everything.
So I took the risk.
I stopped treating my artistry like something on the side…
and started building it like the calling it truly is.
There were long days.
Uncertain moments.
Times I wondered if I made the right choice.
But I kept going.
And that one decision shifted everything.
From bridal mornings… to Paris Fashion Week…
to building a brand I’m truly proud of.
Leaving my 9–5 wasn’t just about chasing a dream.
It was about trusting God, honoring the vision He gave me,
and having the right person beside me who said, “go for it.”
And I did.
