We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elissa Goodman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elissa below.
Elissa, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Personal health and educating others on their health and wellness have been passions of mine for many years. I have had issues with my health for my entire life from cancer to autoimmune issues and cancer and Hashimoto’s in my 30’s. Beyond my own health, I have also struggled while watching various loved ones suffer from health-related issues, including my husband Marc who lost his battle to cancer in his mid-40’s.
I decided it was time to take my health into my own hands, so I became an Integrative Holistic Nutritionist. Fast forward several years, and I have helped thousands of clients manage their health issues, and I have created my own delivered EG Kitchen Cleanse in Los Angeles. I have also created several successful cleanses with Cafe Gratitude and M cafe, as well as my own digital 7-Day RESET cleanse. My EG Kitchen Cleanse allows people to have nourishing, vibrant, healing food delivered right to their doorstep so that clean eating is easier than ever. Most importantly, my cleanse is made with love!
My mission is to educate and encourage healthy, mindful living and helping others embrace the concept that we are products of what we eat and how we treat ourselves!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I strongly align with the belief that optimal living is rooted in proper nourishment, healing through intuitive listening to your “gut,” connecting with inner strength, and adopting a daily renewal practice. After winning my battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 32 and navigating the challenges of losing my husband while raising two beautiful daughters, I have discovered a profound balance in this life: nutrition and self-love as the best medicine. My personal journey became the cornerstone of my mission — to educate and inspire healthy, mindful living, emphasizing that we are a product of both what we eat and how we treat ourselves.
As the creator of an online 7-Day Reset guide for cleansing from home and The EG Kitchen Cleanse, an organic, plant-based delivered food program available in the Los Angeles market, I offer a gentle and accessible approach to cleansing. My methods are designed for those seeking renewal, recharge, rejuvenation, and the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
After graduating, I eagerly embraced the fast-paced life of a so-called “successful” businesswoman. Long hours, stressful work, and caffeine-fueled days became my norm. I was on a mission to conquer the world, and nothing could slow me down. Until one day, a lymphatic drainage masseuse flagged a lump, and at 32, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It was a shock – I was young, recently married, and embarking on starting a family. Wasn’t I supposed to be healthy?
At this point in my life, a lightbulb moment occurred. I realized that, alongside medical treatment, my body craved nourishment and love, and I needed to drastically change my lifestyle. Optimal physical nutrition wasn’t the sole requirement; I was grappling with a massive emotional roadblock that hindered my recovery. Chronic stress, past trauma, perfectionism, and poor sleep were all contributors to my state of disease.
I made a commitment to holistic recovery, leaving my job and embracing stress management through talk therapy, yoga, reiki, and energy healing. Well-being became as integral to my healing journey as food. I learned that what people considered “good food” wasn’t always healthy. Shifting to juicing and a more plant-based diet, I began to heal. I’ve now helped thousands in managing health issues through a blend of diet, lifestyle adjustments, and emotional methodologies. My joy comes from guiding people to the roots of their health issues, both emotionally and physically. Today, I remain cancer, Hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s, and Celiac-free, feeling better than ever.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Knowing what I know now, I would’ve gone to medical school and chosen nutrition instead of advertising, my original career. My current career fuels me, excites me, and motivates me. I truly enjoy what I do, and I just love that!
