We recently connected with Elaine Tsung and have shared our conversation below.
Elaine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Three years ago, amidst the chaos of the pandemic, I found myself at a crossroads in my career. Despite the stability of my corporate job, I felt a deep longing for something more fulfilling, something that allowed me to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. It was during this time that I made the daring decision to leave behind the security of my corporate role and embark on the uncertain journey of starting my own coaching business.
With a one-way ticket to Mexico in hand, I dove headfirst into this new chapter of my life, determined to empower women to break free from the confines of the corporate world and pursue their passions as coaches. The journey was not without its challenges, as venturing into entrepreneurship during such uncertain times was undoubtedly daunting. However, fueled by a burning desire to make a positive impact and live life on my own terms, I pushed forward.
As I immersed myself in my coaching business, I had the privilege of connecting with remarkable women from all walks of life, sharing stories of feeling trapped in the corporate grind and yearning for more freedom and fulfillment. Together, we embarked on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, breaking down barriers and unleashing their full potential. Through countless coaching sessions, workshops, and online courses, I witnessed firsthand the transformation that took place within these women. They stepped into their power, embraced their unique gifts, and fearlessly pursued their dreams. It was incredibly rewarding to see them blossom into confident and successful coaches, making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Looking back, I can confidently say that taking the risk to leave my corporate job and pursue entrepreneurship was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It was a journey filled with growth, resilience, and countless moments of inspiration.
After 1.5 years of building my coaching business in Mexico, I was ready to take another major risk. This time it was investing in foreign property and selling 80% of my belongings back in Canada, permanently making Mexico my home base. This bold decision stemmed from a desire for greater freedom and fulfillment, and while it wasn’t made lightly, it ultimately aligned with my sense of adventure and purpose. Looking back, I can confidently say that taking the risk to leave my corporate job and pursue entrepreneurship was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It was a journey filled with growth, resilience, and countless moments of inspiration.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who are new to my journey, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Elaine, and I am an agency owner who’s passionate about transforming clients’ offers into marketing designs and providing them with the opportunity to tap into my expertise in social media marketing, enabling them to convert their offers into more paying clients.
I take pride in the results I’ve achieved with previous clients, showcasing their success stories. For instance, I’ve helped clients launch solely on Instagram and generate $35k in revenue in a single launch. Additionally, I’ve supported another client in selling out their in-person retreats, booking $10k retreats to capacity. These achievements underscore my commitment to delivering tangible results and helping clients achieve their business goals.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
In the early stages of my business journey, I was driven by a strong desire to achieve 10k months or reach six figures in revenue. When I finally reached these milestones, I found myself completely burned out and surprisingly unfulfilled. It was a moment of realization that the goal I had relentlessly pursued had left me feeling empty. I am now unlearning the notion that more is always better and shifting towards valuing having ‘enough.’ This shift allows me to prioritize a more fulfilling life.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
