We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Last Chantz few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Last Chantz, thanks for joining us today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?

I feel like as a creative being misunderstood is apart of the journey. When you have big goals it’s difficult for people to understand your vision which is why having tunnel vision is so important. Honestly I take it as a compliment when I’m misunderstood cause that means I must be doing something different and you gotta have your own sauce if you wanna stand out

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Well I go by Last Chantz. Im an artist in every sense of the word. I make music but I also have my own brand “Young King Vision”. Everything I do has a message and its own specific vibe to it whether it’s the music, photos, videos, clothing, etc our goal is to infuse all creative worlds into one. Another important goal of ours is quality over quantity and being able to deliver great quality work in all aspects.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I think there’s a million lessons you gotta unlearn to really elevate into a better lifestyle. It’s a lot of things we did as kids we thought made us cool and as you get older ya mindset gotta shift. It’s hard to just say one cause I think it’s a everyday experience learning something about yourself you have to unlearn.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding part of all of this for me is always gonna be the reaction to the art from the people. Knowing that you delivered something dope and people appreciate it is always rewarding and being able to take care of you’re family off creativity is probably the dopest thing ever.
