Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ebone Cooper. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ebone , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
Growing up,both of my parent were entrepreneurs. My dad has owned a car detailing service for over 20years, My mom has been a Master cosmologist. I grew up going to work with my mom, starting the days early in the moring and sometimes ending late at night! Although i dont aspire to work that long ever, it instilled alot of hustle in me. I washed for her and the other ladies in the salon when i was a teenager. Earing tips, and my mom was a tough teacher. She made sure i had people scalps squeeky clean! It really shaped how i interact with people and my care in being a service provider.
The best thing they showed me was to be fearless. There is A LOT of mental blocks one has to break to really go after what they love! To dream can be difficult for some, to ACT on those dreams and actually presue it is another.
For a while throguh my 20s i tried to play it safe; Go to school, get the job and have my summer to myself. The more i walked that path the further i step away from what my HEART desired. I was scared. Because i really didnt know what it mean to dream, but i do now. When i began this journey, they were both so suprised but happy. they encouraged me to jump! They are still incredibly supportive to this day!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I began practing yoga about 8 years ago. Ive always been connected to movement, i was a dancer and cheerleader as a young girl. Initially it was a way to calm down and relax. In truth my awakening peaked After the death of a decade relationship. It became the place where I broke down, opened up, rediscovered great love and leveled my life into purpose. This space brought me new loves and things I had forgotten how to love.
During this jounrey i have collected many modalities. I have become a 760 hour certified yoga instructor, a sound healer, reiki practitioner and intimacy guide (sex doula). I believe Healing/Self-discovery is not one size fits all. It requires intention and many methods to get to where a person needs to be. There should be practices that feel light and are enjoyable; Yoga combined with supportive practices like reiki to help uncover truth below the shadows. Both a equal parts of the jounrey and MUST be nurtured. EbbNFlow is my extension of this mission. Yes i am Eb, but i live in equal planes. Ebbs and flows is alsois an idiom that refers to the natural rhythm of life and the continuous change that is inherent in it. It means that things constantly change and that there are times when things are on the rise and other times when they are on the decline. THAT is life. We can even see that in nature itself through season. Which is why i also choose to share mnay of my experiences in nature. I believe her to be the greatest tool in reconnection.
I host free yoga in the park during the warm seasons at Yellow River Park in Stone mountain on Sundays. I want this love to be as accessible as possible.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I watched my parents work very hard as entrepreneurs. I even stayed with my mom on wekends in the salon from sun up to midnight. They instilled the value of hard work in me and i witnessed what that could produced.
However, I had to unlearn “Grind all day” While sometimes that can feel true in this world we live in. I had to learn to find balance and REST, allowing my innate ability to draw things into fruition. Unting my worth to how much i can produce, attend, put out.
Learning to reassure myself that i am Worthy, period.
That i am deserving, Period.
That what is mines will always be mines.
This allowed me to fully step into my ability to manifest. So when I winter in Costa Rica, and i give myself space to pour back into me, i do so without guilt. Respecting my natural flow, and not bending to a wolrd of burn out.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
I always knew i would be a teacher/service provider. As a child, i loved to play “school” with my siblings. As the eldest, i was the teacher. Practicing math or dance, really anything. I have also always cared about health, patching up friends and family.
When i graduated highschool i went to school for nursing and I worked in a preschool. I eventually switched majors to Early Childhood Education. before finding yoga myself. I prayed for a space where these worlds would meet and i could be both; the teacher and nurture. I thinking if younger me saw me now, she would say “Yep, this worked out!”lol.
I truly love what i do, i teach from that love and i believe THAT is what people feel when they join me in practice.
