We were lucky to catch up with Dylan Sherry recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dylan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I mean there are always some things you wish you change I guess, but I try to not dwell on it. It would’ve been cool to be born a nepo-baby and never have to work a real job to supplement your dream. One thing I wish I could’ve done more was listen and not act like I had everything figured out when I clearly didn’t. Not just in music, but I’ve definitely had phases where I was caught up in this mental race to try and be on top of everything, despite so much not being in my control.
Dylan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I always love drawing from personal experience while expanding on it and trying to create something more narrative based. The way I make music is bare-bones and very DIY, and I’m proud of not compromising to appeal to trends. I don’t expect to change the music industry, I’ve just accepted that I’m going to share what I want to share, and if other people like it, hell yeah.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I just want to express myself in the truest way I know how and always encourage others to do the same. My goal is to share whatever I can make with the world and leave hopefully leave it in a better place than I found it.
