We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dre Vega. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dre below.
Hi Dre, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew this just last year. After doing what I do for as long as I can remember, I was encouraged and pushed by close friends to pursue my work one step further and show it off to the public and sell it!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello! My names Dre Vega. I’ve always been very artistic, very creative and always wanting to learn new crafts and hobbies. I started showing off my work to the public not too long ago. And one thing I regret, is not having done it sooner. I love sharing what I do! I am so happy I decided to finally put my work out there. I wouldn’t have done it without the help and encouragement from friends and family.
I make a lot of different handmade items from polymer clay earrings to stickers of my artwork.
I mostly sell my items at pop-up events and commissions.
I am a hands on kind of person who is very introverted, so that has helped me with focusing on my work and all the detail I put into it. I love meeting new customers and letting them know how much work, time and care went into my artwork. Can’t wait to keep meeting new customers, followers and other creative people like myself.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I would say the most rewarding thing is just having fun! There is nothing out there that makes me happier than handmaking, handpainting and creating something. When I pick up a brush and start painting, my world becomes so serene and in a world as crazy as it is now, tranquility is a must!
Sharing my art with people and getting to meet someone who like and aquired my art is beyond rewarding. It pushes me to keep doing it.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to keep being creative and teach others the same. Not every hobby/craft is the same but if I can teach or encourage someone to keep doing what they do and give it their all, I am content. I would love to eventually share my craft with a younger crowd so I can show them things I would of loved to have been taught when I was younger and how to perfect their crafts. That would be beyond satisfying.
