We recently connected with Dr. Storm Mccullough and have shared our conversation below.
Dr. Storm , appreciate you joining us today. Often the greatest growth and the biggest wins come right after a defeat. Other times the failure serves as a lesson that’s helpful later in your journey. We’d appreciate if you could open up about a time you’ve failed.
The most difficult time in my life was a period in my business where I had to believe in the gifts and abilities that were bestowed within me.
I had recently left a steady job to pursue my dream. At the time, it seemed like a risky move and I was constantly plagued with doubt and fear. There were many obstacles along the way – financial challenges, rejection from potential clients, and even self-doubt. It seemed like no matter how hard I worked, things just didn’t seem to be falling into place.
One day, I hit a rock bottom. My business was struggling and I felt as though I had failed myself and those who believed in me. The thought of giving up on my dream crossed my mind numerous times. But deep down, there was a part of me that refused to let go – the determined and resilient part of me that had gotten me this far.
I knew that in order to turn things around, I needed to make drastic changes and take bold actions. So despite the difficulties, I decided to push forward with unwavering determination and faith. One major obstacle was figuring out how to balance running a business and pursuing my doctorate degree. It was a daunting task, but I refused to let it stop me from achieving my goals.
I poured my heart and soul into both areas of my life – working tirelessly on my business during the day and staying up late at night to write a dissertation. There were moments when I felt completely overwhelmed, but I reminded myself that this was all temporary and that the sacrifices I was making now would lead to a better future.
Fast forward to now. Let me reintroduce myself:
I am Dr. Storm McCullough, an Entrepreneur, Realtor, and Investor, and I humbly serve as the Founder & Principal of R. E. D. D. Learning Academy, a vibrant K-12 private school in South Florida dedicated to teaching students the skills to become Producers rather than Consumers.
Yes! The challenge was worth it!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m an individual passionate in a multitude of things with a drive to excel in all aspects of my life. My journey in the business world began at a young age, as I watched my parents struggle in different phases of their lives. I knew from an early on that I wanted to be financially successful, not just for myself, but also for my family and community.
With this mindset, I pursued a Doctoral degree and subsequently started my own investment company. This eventually led me to become a licensed Realtor, where I help clients find their dream homes or invest in profitable properties. Alongside my real estate career, I also founded R. E. D. D (Race. Equality. Discovery. Diversity.) Learning Academy in 2020. Founding R.E.D.D, I was able to accomplish my goal of providing a quality education to students and teaching them essential life skills such as social and emotional learning, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and becoming a producer.
THE TRUTH BEHIND MY SMILE
I take immense pride in my resilience, having refused to abandon hope despite the numerous amount of challenges that I have faced. Many nights were spent in tears with my faith constantly wavering, yet I allowed my Heavenly Father to confront my spiritual struggles.
I remember a time when I was told that the hardships I faced were significant, and overcoming those obstacles made my testimony seem effortless. It was then that I realized the importance of recognizing divine favor and understanding that the Most High had a purpose for my life.
Being a successful entrepreneur involves enduring spiritual challenges on a daily basis, but as scripture reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I uphold my commitments, act with integrity, and possess a generous spirit while maintaining a strong business presence.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Janelle Monae articulates a profound truth: Celebrate your individuality, regardless of how it may unsettle others. My experiences have taught me that striving for perfection is counterproductive, as it often hinders the pursuit of true greatness.
