Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Kierstin Beaman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Dr. Kierstin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

Taking a risk and pushing yourself to see it through can help you attain your dreams. A few years ago my husband and I had just moved into our new home and we were just a few short weeks away from his big cancer surgery. Finances became tight and working for someone else was not the solution. I was working extra hours and longer days to make things work. During this time, the idea of taking the leap and opening my own practice was recurring in our conversations. After the pandemic arrived, life became harder and my current work situation was not enough. This was the exact moment where I took the leap and followed my dreams. My own practice had been born! This is not to say that all of the hardships and worries had gone away, but it was the first time in my life that I was in control of my future. Not only am I now able to support my family, but I’m able to support and help my community in many ways. I strive everyday to be the best wife, daughter and doctor I can be. This incredible risk that I took has pushed me to continue to learn and improve in many areas both personally and professionally. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would take the risk every time!

Dr. Kierstin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, a licensed and board-certified acupuncturist by the NCCAOM, and a clinical herbalist. I founded Minnesota Integrative Medicine & Acupuncture, located in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, in 2021 and currently act as the Clinic Director. The foundation of my career started by helping a loved one navigate through the struggles of chronic pain and continued as I watched my husband battle through stage 4 stomach cancer.. Although these experiences were tough, they solidified what I knew I was supposed to be doing.

My career began by treating acute sports injuries, then my focus eventually shifted to treating reproductive disorders, cancer pain and symptom management, chronic pain, failed surgeries, debilitating neuropathies, and rheumatoid conditions. By offering patients a truly unique and safe holistic treatment approach, I am able to treat a wide variety of conditions.

In addition to acupuncture, multiple signature services are practiced at my clinic including electroacupuncture, ozone therapy, frequency specific microcurrent therapy, and terahertz therapy. I offer patient-centered, individualized care to deliver effective and reliable results.

I am most proud of the positive impact my clinic has had on the surrounding community. Patients are treated with such grace and care while improving on their health goals and quality of life.

It is my hope that this clinic is the bridge that connects western and eastern medicine for the benefit of all patients.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Growing my clientele has been an intriguing process and one that I am constantly making changes to. What has been the most effective for me is creating relationships with other medical providers and consistently providing positive results for my patients. These two avenues of maintaining and growing my clientele are directly affected by the continual building of my reputation within my market.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

My reputation is extremely important to me as it shows my community that I am a trusted doctor. I have built my reputation within my market with my honesty and transparency of my medicine and how it can help each individual attain their unique health goals.
