We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Don Nicholson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Don below.
Hi Don , thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe it takes an incredible amount of faith and resilience to become successful. When a woman is in labor in order for the child to be delivery a woman has to push! thru the pain, hurt even being tired and etc….. because she knows its not about her its about the childs life. If you want to be successful you’re gonna have to push through the pain, failures and set backs, heart break to give birth to your dreams. All Faith and no Fear! In life you will experience moments of doubt and frustration. It’s not about having those emotions or experiences it’s about how you face and overcome them. In February of 2024. I was faced with overwhelming odds my brother pass away days before my birthday and a month before his, then my niece , which she was only 16 years old. She died in march, then my uncle in late November right before the holidays. I these overwhelming chain of events.felt like giving up! on myself and everything my goals, my purpose, and life. However I was reminded of a Bible verse.
Psalm Ch23: 1-6 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever Amen.
To be successful means to never give up never quitting. To die empty of all goals, dreams and aspirations. To live a purposeful life. I have a burning desire to give up “who I am so that “I can become who I was meant to be!

Don , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
One of the things that I am the most proud about is seeing my idea and vision come to life from having a idea in my mind to draw it on paper to sewing fabric to actually having a product is one of my most proudest moments. I didn’t allow life or self-doubt overcome my vision and what I’m passionate about, it’s not only been a minority business owner or a fashion brand, what it is about is giving back and helping others. When a person becomes apart of this new fashion journey with us at Don Diablo Couture! My customers have become extremely submerged in the process of making their dreams become reality. Here at Don Diablo Couture we came to to our clients every step of the way, whether it is reconstructing old fabric, turning it into something new or creating something with new fabrics and new materials all while delivering high quality luxury products and services and great customer experience.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most best effective strategy for me, believe it or not has been word of mouth and social media. I’m able to reach so many different people just with a click up a button and using different promotional tools on social media.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I’ve been impacted but so many books however there are an After the Super Bowl everybody few that comes to mind. One is the Bible second will be rich at poor dad by Robert, third is The richest man in Babylon. E.T. Eric Thomas, his motivational videos have been extremely inspiring.
