Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dionisio Burgos. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dionisio, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? We’d love to hear the backstory the illustrates how you grew your brand.
From the outside, people see the awards, the clients, and the brand and assume it happened overnight. What they don’t see are the years of quiet work, doubt, and sacrifice that built the foundation.
When I started, it wasn’t about scaling a business. It was about purpose. I showed up consistently, treated every shoot like it mattered, and focused on serving people rather than chasing profit. Growth came from small daily decisions, not one big break.
I made mistakes along the way. I underpriced my work, trusted the wrong people, and burned out trying to prove my worth. But those seasons taught me boundaries, structure, and the true value of my craft.
The real shift happened when I stopped chasing clients and started building a brand rooted in trust, systems, and intentional work. Publications, awards, and returning clients were meaningful milestones, but the greatest reward has been knowing the work impacts people and inspires others to create.
What looks like success today is really the result of unseen consistency, hard lessons, and faith through difficult seasons. I didn’t grow overnight. I grew by refusing to quit and staying faithful to the vision God placed in my heart.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Dionisio Burgos, founder of Luminous Views, a photography and visual storytelling brand rooted in authenticity, purpose, and human connection. I’m a photographer and author who believes images do more than capture moments. They restore confidence, preserve identity, and tell stories that words cannot.
I discovered photography during a season of personal growth, using it to express what I couldn’t say. As people began to see themselves differently through my lens, my passion became a calling.
Today, I provide portrait photography, branding imagery, product photography, and event coverage for families, entrepreneurs, and organizations. I help clients present themselves with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
What sets my work apart is the experience. I create a relaxed environment where people feel comfortable and leave empowered. While I’ve completed over 1,600 shoots and received recognition, I’m most proud of the impact my work has on how people see themselves.
Luminous Views is built on integrity, faith, and service, with a mission to create meaningful images that honor identity, purpose, and legacy.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the belief that my worth was tied to how hard I worked and how much I could prove myself. Early on I said yes to everything and underpriced my work because survival mode made every opportunity feel like my last.
Burnout changed that. I learned that boundaries protect creativity and that my value was never up for negotiation.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
MJ, also known as Marques Harris, is a Rhode Island portrait photographer and the creative force behind MJH Productions.
MJ didn’t come into my life as a business partner. He came in as someone who wanted to learn.
He showed up with humility, curiosity, and a genuine respect for the craft. What started as mentorship quickly turned into long conversations, shared vision, and countless hours building and creating together.
Somewhere along the way, he stopped being just a studio member and became my brother, my best friend, and a trusted partner on many projects.
Our partnership grew organically through trust, loyalty, and a shared commitment to doing meaningful work. It was never forced or transactional. It was built through consistency, late nights, problem solving, and believing in the same purpose.
Today, we don’t just collaborate. We build, we push each other to grow, and we hold the vision together.
