We were lucky to catch up with Diego Cuta recently and have shared our conversation below.
Diego , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
I can say that one of the most important things as a musician, artist, or producer, besides talent, is the networking you have and how you build your career with the right people at the right moments.

Diego , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m originally from Colombia, South America, and currently living in Miami, FL. I’ve been doing music for the last 15 years as a musician and musical director with many types of artists and genres, from folklore to jazz. It has been a true blessing from God. I have performed on many stages, shows, stadiums, and venues, sharing what I love and giving people a part of my heart and soul.
I am currently doing music in my own project called Cuti Bass as a producer and main artist. This new idea combines Afro and cumbia sounds with Caribbean and EDM music, bringing good energy and a nice beach vibe to the listeners so they can join in, have a good time, and dance and sing along to the songs.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
There’s a big purpose with my music and sound, and it’s to bring people freedom and to allow them to experience love and freedom through my music.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
For many of us in the industry, the pandemic was the most difficult and stressful time, but it was the perfect opportunity to let something die in us and let something else be born. That’s what happened with me I started my new project.
