We recently connected with Diamond Wallace and have shared our conversation below.
Diamond, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Jewels of The Future Inc is a non profit organization my mom Renita Turner and I created in honor of my grandmother. She was selfless and believed in caring for others. We created Jewels of The Future to be a safe space for young ladies and to mentor them, teach them entrepreneurship skills, all while giving back to the community. Our area code is the poorest in Jacksonville, Fl 32209, so I wanted to create something to give back while playing the sister role to our girls in order to progress them at whatever their goals are. We launched with hopes of doing something needed and that’s caring for your neighbor and loving those around you.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
Jewels of the future is no walk in the park being a 501(c)3 we struggle to find resources to give to our community. Everything we receive is from the community and we pour directly back into the same community. Its important we bridge the gap between kids and families in need to resources provided available everywhere. We plan to give back as much as possible without always receiving an award for it, and doing good just to do good. We launched on the hopes of our community appreciating our work and being driven and it truly has paid off we work really hard. We do annual back to school drives and Christmas parties, we have added an Easter event, mental health affair, community monster mash, community cleanups, and fighting for civil rights and underprivileged children.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
We drove the point home, and we’re consistent. It was all about connecting with those we love and want to help and they always engage, basically find your audience, stay interesting to them, and be consistent!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I was originally working at a transportation company from the time I was 18-22 and I burned myself out I was crying, overwhelmed, and stressed out. Though my method was prayer and stepping out on faith.
I left that job and went to work for a major non profit organization, which is what my goal is to be. It’s a stepping stone to success and created so many relationships that I was able to keep and network with
