We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Diamond Gist a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Diamond, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Taking a risk can feel paralyzing. Your heart races, your mind questions everything, and comfort suddenly feels safer than growth. But I once heard something that shifted my mindset: If you’re not taking risks, you’re not planting seeds, And seeds can’t grow if they’re never planted. The biggest risk I’ve ever taken was starting my business. On the outside, it may have looked exciting — empowering, even glamorous. But behind the scenes, it was layered with uncertainty. I wasn’t stepping into a guarantee. I was stepping into faith. I had to invest money I couldn’t afford to waste, time I couldn’t get back, and energy that stretched me beyond what felt comfortable. There were moments when I questioned if I was ready, qualified, or even capable. The backstory is simple, yet deeply personal: I had a vision that wouldn’t leave me alone. A desire to create something of my own. To build a space where women could feel seen, confident, and empowered. But wanting something and risking everything for it are two very different things. I had to decide if I would protect my fear or pursue my purpose.
What began as one of the scariest decisions of my life turned into one of my greatest blessings. My business didn’t just grow — I grew. I became more resilient, more disciplined, more confident. The risk shaped me as much as it shaped my success.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Diamond Gist, and I am the founder of Pamper My Esthetics — a beauty brand built on more than services. It was built on purpose. My journey into the beauty industry didn’t start with perfection. It started with passion. I’ve always been drawn to the way beauty can transform not just someone’s appearance, but their posture, their confidence, their energy. I realized early on that self-care isn’t superficial — it’s emotional, mental, and deeply personal. That understanding is what pulled me into esthetics. What began as curiosity quickly became calling.I specialize in lash extensions, brows, facials, and waxing — but what I truly provide is an experience. Every appointment is uniquely tailored to the woman sitting in my chair. Whether it’s a soft, natural lash set or a full glam look, my goal is to enhance what’s already there, not mask it. I believe beauty should feel aligned, effortless, and authentic to who you are.Beyond the services themselves, I solve a deeper problem for my clients: I create space. Space for busy women to pause. Space to feel cared for. Space to reconnect with themselves. In a world that constantly demands from women, I offer an environment where they are poured back into. What sets me apart is intention. I don’t rush transformations. I educate my clients on skin health, proper lash care, and long-term beauty maintenance because empowerment comes from knowledge. I believe in building relationships, not just a client list. My brand is rooted in community, giving back, and encouraging women to stand confidently in who they are — not blend in, not shrink, but truly stand out.
I am most proud of the growth — not just in revenue or bookings — but in resilience. Starting my business was a leap of faith, and watching it flourish has been a testament to consistency, courage, and belief. I’m proud of the women who walk in unsure and leave glowing. I’m proud of creating a brand that reflects both luxury and heart.
What I want potential clients and supporters to know is this: Pamper My Esthetics is not just about beauty treatments. It’s about embodiment. It’s about embracing who you are while elevating how you feel. When you support my brand, you’re supporting a vision centered on confidence, community, and care. This is more than esthetics. This is empowerment.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn in business was the belief that my work alone was enough — that if I just showed flawless results, perfect lashes, glowing skin, and polished transformations, that would be what built connection. For a long time, I stayed behind the camera. I highlighted my craft, but I hid myself. What I’ve come to understand is that people don’t just invest in services — they invest in people. Clients want to see the hands behind the work. They want to feel your energy before they ever sit in your chair. They want to engage with your personality, your story, your heart. In today’s world, visibility builds trust. Showing my face felt vulnerable at first. It meant stepping out from behind perfectly angled photos and allowing myself to be seen — not filtered through just my talent, but through my presence. When I began sharing more of myself — my voice, my journey, my personality, everything shifted. Engagement grew. Conversations deepened. Clients felt like they already knew me before booking. The brand became more human. Now I truly believe visibility is a vital part of success. Your audience wants to connect with who you are, not just what you do. Your face, your smile, your story — those are powerful marketing tools. They create familiarity, and familiarity builds comfort. And comfort builds loyalty.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy I’ve discovered for growing my clientele hasn’t been a trend, a sale, or even a perfectly curated post — it’s been vulnerability and consistency.
Showing up matters. Not just when business is booming. Not just when content looks perfect. But on the regular days. The quiet days. The building days. Growth happens when people see you present, engaged, and committed — even when no one is clapping yet.I’ve also learned that clients are more than appointments on a calendar. They become community. They become family. They celebrate your wins, refer their friends, repost your work, and support your vision. When people show up for you like that, it’s only right to pour back into them with the same energy. Connections help grow clientele.
