We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Deveaire Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Deveaire thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I was 11 years old when I realized music was my calling. Started writing poems and soon came music. At the time I was dealing with so much at home. It was my way of coping and getting through those tough times.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m 27 years old. I’m a music artist from Detroit. My genre is mainly Hip-Hop & R&B. I’ve released several projects over the years. I’m most proud of “7.11”. I’ve met other amazing artist. I worked with Pepsi & Carl Chery gave my music a good review. Performed at many local venues & festivals!
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Well now my goal is to get back out there. I lost my little brother in late 2021 and I took a toll on my life. He had a son which has also been apart of my drive to be there for my nephew. I’ve been in the head space of trying to keep my mental health together. While writing songs from time to time to help express what I’m going through.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
“The Secret” is a really good back. Also “How to Become Supernatural”
