We recently connected with Devan Flower and Dylan Brannan and have shared our conversation below.
Devan & Dylan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
We both went to a red rocks show together back in 2011 to see Skrillex at Global Dance Fest, and ever since then we fell in love with the scene and the music. We dove deeper into the scene by hitting every RR show we could, check out all the shows in Denver’s indoor venues (RIP Beta) and going to EDC Vegas 3 times, Shambala for 2 years and eventually decided we needed to be a bigger part of it. Since then we have been working very hard on our skills so that maybe one day we will perform at some of these amazing events/venues we have been to. Denver’s EDM scene is probably the best in world and we are so blessed to have started our adventure in the music industry in such an amazing scene.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For us both, EGOKILLERZ has been a project where we can both express our selves in a way that takes people on a journey through sound, and we try to be different by being versatile with the EDM genres we produce and perform live. A big motivation for that would be Zeds Dead and how they can seamlessly flow between genres while keeping the energy alive!
The number one thing we are most proud of is being added to the DanceFestopia line up this year (2024). It is BY FAR the biggest line up we have had our name added to and we can not wait to see where our journey goes from here!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to share our music with different people and seeing their reactions from the stage! The feeling of getting a crowd moving is near unmatched!

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
With Denver having one of, if not the best EDM scene in the world, it is also HEAVILY saturated with people trying to do the same thing we are, making it a VERY competitive industry, when the music industry in general is already a very tough business to succeed in! Everyone in Denver is a DJ!
