DeVa , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
DeJerNi is my name and my siblings. My first name is DeVere my older brother middle name is Jermir and my baby sister first name is Anitra. The name means Family and Legacy.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is DeVa im a creative entrepreneur with a Luxury Male brand DeJerNi which means Family and Legacy. I created a Male Parfum a little over 3 yrs ago. I decided to caterer towards the men, because I love the way male Parfums smells. What sets me apart is that I’m a woman.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
About six months ago, my SUV got broken into and all of my merchandise was stolen, I hand just did a brand shoot a few prior and I left the duffle bag in my seat. I was so angry at first because I felt like I had to start all over from scratch, But in reality I didn’t I just had to regroup and reorder brand marketing materials, and merch, as well as my mixture from my manufacturer. But I refused to let that stop me.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
As for as capital for my business that came from my full-time job. I would just purchased items that i needed. No investors no grants no loans etc… I had no clue the amount of money it will take to get started in this business. It definitely not inexpensive!
