Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Demirhan Erim. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Demirhan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Got it. Here is the same strong founder story without long dashes and with a smooth interview tone:
⸻
I’ve been building community apps for years, and cars have been a passion of mine since I was a kid. When I moved to Los Angeles, I started going to Cars & Coffee events, waking up at 6 AM on Sundays with hundreds of other enthusiasts.
You see incredible cars, passionate people, and amazing conversations. But once the event ends, everyone goes back online to completely different platforms like Instagram, forums, or random groups.
One morning it hit me. How is it possible that one of the biggest cultures in the world does not have its own digital home?
That realization stayed with me. MyGarage was born from that idea. A platform where car enthusiasts can showcase their vehicles, connect with others, discover events, and interact with the entire automotive ecosystem in one place.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Demirhan Erim. I’m an entrepreneur and engineer originally from Turkey and now based in Los Angeles. I studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering and later completed my master’s in International Marketing. My career has always been centered around building technology that brings people together.
Before MyGarage, I created several community driven platforms that reached hundreds of thousands of users. I have always been fascinated by how digital products can connect people around shared passions and create real communities.
At the same time, cars and motorcycles have been a lifelong passion of mine. After moving to Los Angeles, I started attending Cars & Coffee events, waking up at 6 AM on Sunday mornings with hundreds of other enthusiasts. You see incredible cars, passionate people, and amazing conversations. But once the event ends, the community disappears into scattered platforms like Instagram, forums, and group chats.
That realization stuck with me. One of the largest enthusiast cultures in the world did not have a true digital home.
That’s why I built MyGarage.
MyGarage is designed to be the platform for the automotive community. A place where enthusiasts can showcase their cars, connect with other passionate owners, discover events, and interact with the entire automotive ecosystem.
What makes MyGarage different is that it is built from inside the culture. It is not just another social network. It is a purpose built platform for people who truly love cars.
What I am most proud of is building something that reflects real passion. MyGarage started as a simple observation within the community and is growing into a global platform for automotive enthusiasts.
Our vision is simple. To create the digital home for car culture.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
For us it starts with community. MyGarage is not just a product, it’s a culture. We stay connected with our users through the app, social media, and real-world car events like Cars & Coffee where enthusiasts naturally gather.
We also listen closely to our community. Many of our features come directly from feedback and conversations with users. When people see their ideas shaping the platform, they feel ownership. That creates real loyalty.
At the end of the day, car enthusiasts are passionate people. If you build something authentic and stay engaged with the community, the loyalty follows naturally.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy has been building within the culture instead of marketing from the outside. MyGarage grew through real enthusiasts sharing it with other enthusiasts.
Car communities are very connected. When someone showcases their vehicle or shares their garage in the app, their friends naturally want to join as well. That creates organic growth.
We also collaborate with influencers, car clubs, and local automotive businesses. When the platform becomes useful for the entire ecosystem, growth becomes much more natural and sustainable.
