We were lucky to catch up with Darius Carriger recently and have shared our conversation below.
Darius, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I was eight years old and performing as a happy hippo in front of my elementary school back in Oregon. As an actor and eventually as a director/writer, I knew that if I saw smiles on people’s faces, I was doing something right. It too made me smile.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I graduated from Western Washington University in 2023 with a degree in acting and a minor in accounting. From there I started doing small roles on film sets, I continued writing from my days in college, and it eventually led to my film Clemontime. I wrote it from the ground up and its something I’ve worked on and continue to work on three years running. Its fun directing it too. There’s a real care by the people who are involved and at the end of the day, we want to make sure this is something that not only people can care for, but can relate to too. A goal of mine has always been wanting whats best for the community whether that’s viewer or artist, and I will stand here and say that this is going to be the first of such experiences going forward.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I will say to the society out there as a viewer: have a open mind, go into each thing you attend with the thought of having fun, and always know that constructive criticism is always welcomed in the world of art.
As for the artists: Share ideas with your peers, don’t be afraid of going for the big things, and have fun!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I would day having fun and supporting others are important and are huge goals for me. I want to share those indie musical artists through sound tracks and score. I want to share those editors, so they can show off their talents. I want to work with as many people as I can, so I can make a positive impact on them with everything I do. I want to make sure everyone is having fun and to help anyone going through a rough time!
