Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dany Srey-Snow. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Dany, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I’ve always felt called to dance to the beat of my own drum. Going against the grain was exciting and made me felt free. Following my intuition and Self isn’t something that’s encouraged or supported by the masses most of the time.
At a young age, I was guided to pave my own way, which made me realize I had a pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit. Being born into a family of refugees, it led me to tapping into my creativity and become resourceful.
I want to believe that Source and the cosmos set this up for me to be a risk taker. Being an Aries Sun, ENFJ, Enneagram 4, Rooster in Chinese zodiac, and Manifestor in HD (as you can tell, I love learning about my Self), I’ve come to learn I’m living up to my nature’s path and design.
As an adult, I’ve strengthened my intuition, become more in tune and tapped in. It guided me to leaving my home Seattle, Washington to following my heart to the middle of no where in Minot, North Dakota. My heart connection to my now husband has helped me dive deeper into my truth of being an artist and healer.
Living a life by design is something I discovered was possible when I had a safety net and support system that my husband provided. He created a space for me to be seen, heard, validated, and loved. With this type of witnessing, I felt encouraged to explore my curiosities and depths of Self.
Being the feminine energy and creatrix in our relationship, I’ve been able to bring in new ideas that seem out of the ordinary. My husband, being the masculine energy, has been able to ground these ideas with insight and helped generate these thoughts into fruition.
We’ve created a business together, had multiple kiddos while being away from home, chose the artist lifestyle, and moving to Long Beach, California together helped us explore our capacities. It stretched our nervous system to manifest more and build more life experience and skill set. I believe all of this is a risk, that one has to change their perspective as an opportunity and a chance to live.
From the outside in, the world can see my work and life as taboo. Not only am I an entrepreneur in the creative world and sacred sensual healing arts, I’m a wife and young mother of soon to be three, and I’m on a path to discover more feeling, healing, pleasure and play.

Dany, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Dany Srey-Snow and I’m a Khmer-American multidisciplinary artist, healer and women’s mentor. I’m also a wife, mother, sister, friend and daughter of khmer refugees who found opportunity in Seattle (Occupied Duwamish Land).
I am the healer behind Srey Dany Co. Healing & boudoir photographer behind Srey Boudoir Photography.
Acclimating as an Asian-American, I let my curiosity guide me, tapping into many spaces. Today, I embody a multidimensional identity guiding folx to heal, feel divinely connected, and create a life by design. I work in the sacred sensual healing arts and offer yoga, reiki, sound, other ritual, and boudoir photography. By holding safe spaces, I help women turn shame into liberation and call in pleasure and desire – in whatever way that looks like for them. I speak and share about womb wisdom from the Divine Feminine/Matriarchal view.
I found my voice through my visual expression and movement. Being a WOC, experiencing sexual trauma and domestic violence allowed me to become resilient and transmute shame into power and peace. Strength is in my vulnerability, openness, and reclaiming my voice and body.
My path eventually led me out of Seattle and broadened my horizons to build a union with my husband. I realized “the common path” wasn’t my calling. We started our legacy, Studio 7117, while pregnant with our first-born and alchemized our own businesses. Our creative studio guides conscious entrepreneurs to be intentional through branding, production, design, & wellness offerings. We create narratives to story tell and bring up conversations about nuanced topics that feel relevant to our community.
The business was built off our union and marriage date 7/01/17, 7 & 1 being fortunate numbers and 71/17, a mirror of each other—the reflection of yin and yang. Studio 7117’s foundation is built on love and creating a life by design. What started as a freelancing opportunity due to conceiving our first-born has now evolved into a family-owned-and-run business that has moved through three states, serving our community worldwide and has been running for six years.
My disciplines and craft are a reflection of where I am in life. They have transcended as I have transformed over the years and gained life experience. Having a background and professional training in public relations, marketing, graphic design, and media services, it has helped me with my business offerings. But my life experiences and trainings in the healing arts are what helped me tap into my intuition and gifts.
When co-creating with me in the studio for your healing experience or boudoir ceremony, you’ll be guided from head to toe, to find safety in your body, be given space for your intuitive movement, and allowance to explore the depths of your own.
This is a space for you to unfold your story and call in presence, clarity, and what other intentions you have for healing, whether that be peace, a message, healing, or pleasure. This is for women who may feel like they’re on autopilot, unfulfilled, or scared to be seen or heard. I’ll always leave room for you to have your divine feminine embodiment journey and drop into your yoni and womb space for more acceptance, expression, and curiosity.
I am happy to serve to who feels called to this medicine. I have limited space for Divine Feminine – Boudoir Ceremonies, which is a fusion of intuitive reiki healing and boudoir photography medicine. I have open space for Feel to Heal – a 3-session Intuitive Healing Package, which combines yoga, sound, reiki, and meditation. I often hold wombxn’s circles, reiki gatherings, and mini retreats to my community for in-person connection.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being a creative, I know that I am but a vessel. Everyone has a different vision and intention with creating, yet we are all being used by something bigger to co-create life. For me, it allows me to express in ways that words don’t do justice. I’m able to flow and feel when I make art. I don’t get a chance to create “art” in the traditional way often, as I’m a mother to young children. So, when I carve the space to do so – it’s that much more special and important to me.
Creating art increases dopamine, which makes me feel good. Being in my feminine energy, I yearn for experiences for me to feel, more so feel good and have these cathartic experiences.
I use my journey and experiences in life to create art with different mediums; spoken word poetry, painting, boudoir, audio visual films, kirtan + chanting, and my wombxn’s circles. I see these outlets and creations as an offering back to the world. For those who come across my work, may they be touched or seen through these different art forms. One of the sayings I live by is “feel to heal”. We are living in a world where thinking is the main way to operate. Feeling is secondary, but I believe this is where we get to tap into our intuition, into spirit, and into something beyond us.
Not only do I create art, I’ve shifted my perspective that I am also art. This has been a part of my embodiment and empowerment journey. Being able to live and breathe the life I’ve manifested and created allows me to align with people who feel seen and get inspired with the way I move through life and vise versa. It gives the people an opportunity to look at life in a different way. We get to be mirrors for each other.
Seeing my kids as art is also a way for me to feel like a creator of my reality. This allows me to be an artist and creative every second. They are an extension of me and they create their own world also. Being an artist and conscious creative, I started to live by this phrase, everything I touch turns to gold. Imagine if everyone thought this way. How would our world change? Wouldn’t there be more intentionality into everything that people do? Wouldn’t there be more beauty and meaning? I think so.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Ever since starting a business, I was a mother. Motherhood was the beginning of my freelance and professional entrepreneurial journey.
This was the pinnacle of “my work is beyond me.” I shifted the way I worked to be more suitable for my lifestyle. Client meetings and sessions were in my studio or at home while I was nursing my first born. I created at odd hours when my kiddo was asleep. Things became on kiddo time, and I was okay with that. My clients and community were also okay with that.
My energy shifted as I became a matriarch, a boss mom. I started calling in clients that understood intentional and slow living. I started calling in clients that respected the way I flowed in work and home life. I started calling in a team that wanted to work with a family of conscious creatives.
The world around me was my oyster. Now I’ll soon be a mother of three, my business and life has transformed to be more and more intentional. The energy and space I hold is even more sacred. I take on less clients, which allows me to preserve my energy for aligned connection. My offerings are even more thought out so I can create in a deep and meaningful way.
