Alright, Danielle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Crazy stuff happening is almost as certain as death and taxes – it’s technically “unexpected” but something unexpected happening is to be expected and so can you share a crazy story with our readers
My Mother almost drowned in the ocean when I was just 17 years old! Without hesitation I dove in and swam 50 yds to save my Mom’s life. When I finally approached her she began pulling me under so she could instictually breathe. I told her to hold onto my back and I swam breastroke and I saved both our lives that day! Soon after I knew my mission was to save kids and adults lives by training them how to swim!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
After being a competitive swimmer of 13 years I started coaching a huge swim team and fell in love training kids. My heart and passion came from saving my Mom’s life in the ocean at the young age of 17! I almost drowned at swim practice my junior year from a horrible leg cramp. Even the lifeguards didn’t notice and I had to save my own life by moving my arms as fast as I could to get out of the pool. I am thankful for my past in swimming that has led me to build create and paint my entire swim school!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
It took me 10 years to perfect my swim program! Ice Cream, Cotton Candy, Donuts helps kids learn to swim in a fun and yummy way! I painted my entire swim school over 300 hrs of detailed art including a 20×70 foot mural of the front & back cover of my Children’s book that I wrote, My 1st Swim Adventure and My Swim Adventure are the names of my 2 books that help train different ages of kids to swim. I have created my program that 99% of our students learn to swim + survival in just 9 days!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
After coaching in backyard pools for 14 years we finally bought a home with a pool and I was able to coach fromt he luxery of my own home. After the first week of coaching from my pool I received a letter from our HOA that I must stop coaching because of neighbors complaining about traffic flow (2 cars in my driveway every 30 min) and kids crying. After just 8 months we were forced to move or else get sued by our HOA. We never wanted to live in another HOA again, but our next home the HOA was so excited to have us there to help the community. We signed documents to agree that I was allowed to coach swimming in my backyard. After just 2 yrs they cancelled us, yet again. It was for the same reasons that I discussed before. My husband was tired of living on Egg Shells with our neighbors so he decided to quit his job being an airline pilot to help build my dream swim school. We had many hurdles building our facility, but now I can say that we just Won Best Swim School in Denton County this Summer 2024! We are so proud and pleased that all our hard work and dedication has paid off.
