We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daniele Wilson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daniele below.
Daniele, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
The inception of Design Events was rooted in a deep passion for creating experiences—not just events. Living in Atlanta, I noticed that while there were many event décor companies, very few focused on transforming a space into an entirely new world. I wanted to design events that didn’t just meet expectations but galvanized a room and left guests in awe—an experience that would “wow” the client as much as their guests.
As I studied the local market, I realized that most of the décor trends in Georgia leaned heavily toward southern, rustic, and farm-style aesthetics. Large-scale ceiling installations and extravagant floral designs—elements you might see in Qatar, Jordan, California, or Florida—were virtually unheard of in Atlanta. I saw a gap and envisioned a company that would bring global-level luxury design to our city.
After years of research and studying the industry, I decided to take a leap of faith. I approached a bride-to-be and shared my vision: a wedding experience unlike anything Atlanta had seen before. She trusted me with her big day, and together we began designing a concept that would completely redefine the event space.
I sourced materials that weren’t available locally and partnered with emerging luxury vendors to ensure every detail delivered a world-class experience. On the wedding day, the room was breathtaking. It was everything we had envisioned and more. The bride was over the moon, and the images from that event became the launching point of our company.
That first wedding proved that Atlanta was ready for luxury event transformations, and from there, our business grew into the company it is today—one dedicated to turning our clients’ most ambitious dreams into unforgettable realities.

Daniele, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m the founder of Design Events luxury event décor company in Atlanta, created from a passion for transforming spaces into unforgettable experiences. When I first explored the event industry here, I noticed a gap—most companies offered traditional southern décor, but few delivered immersive, floor-to-ceiling transformations like you’d see in California, Florida, or even internationally. I wanted to bring that level of luxury and artistry to Atlanta.
Today, our company specializes in full-service event design, including custom set creations, floor-to-ceiling venue transformations, dramatic ceiling installations, and luxury floral arrangements. We also provide floral and décor rentals, offering pre-designed floral sets for brides and clients who want a high-end look on a more accessible budget—especially valuable in today’s economy.
What sets us apart is our ability to take a client’s most ambitious vision and make it a reality, delivering spaces that wow guests and delight our clients. I’m most proud of how our work has introduced a new standard of luxury design to Atlanta, giving every client the chance to feel like their event is truly one of a kind.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Running a luxury décor business in Atlanta is an exercise in constant resilience. Atlanta is an incredibly competitive and saturated market, and every day I’m navigating the challenge of earning clients’ trust and helping them see that investing in a truly transformative event is an investment in themselves and their memories.
There are seasons when the calendar is packed and our team is creating back-to-back events—and then there are quieter months where it feels like crickets. Those ups and downs are part of building something from the ground up, and it requires a deep belief in my vision to keep going.
Even now, I lean on that belief: that what we offer—immersive, floor-to-ceiling transformations that wow both clients and guests—is worth it. Every proposal I present, every installation I design, I know we are creating something that makes people feel celebrated in a way they’ve never experienced before.
Resilience, for me, looks like showing up even in the quiet seasons, continuing to push, create, and innovate because I know the next “yes” could change everything. And when a client finally walks into a room we’ve transformed and their face lights up, that moment reminds me exactly why I keep going.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Funding my business was truly a step-by-step journey of faith and discipline. I didn’t have investors or a big lump sum to start with—I built this company slowly and intentionally using my personal savings from my previous career as an engineer.
In the beginning, every purchase was strategic. I would take a portion of my savings each month to invest in the essentials—materials, inventory, and tools that would eventually allow me to create the kind of high-end event transformations I envisioned. Month by month, I watched the pieces come together—from ordering large-scale décor and floral elements to building a library of rental items that brides and clients could access today.
Looking back, that methodical approach taught me resilience and resourcefulness. Building this company wasn’t about overnight success—it was about believing in the vision enough to fund it myself, brick by brick, until the dream became what it is today.
