We recently connected with Dajairea Carter and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dajairea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by sharing your thoughts about the pros and cons of family businesses.
My thoughts on family businesses comes from such an intense positive place because that is something that I also operate in. With me being a Creative Director, I didn’t just out of nowhere start doing it. See, It actually started from my father, and with my father once being a part of the group “con funk shun” and being in the music industry, he carried over his learnings of being in the industry to his family and he put it too our talents which is music, song writing, producing and of course so much more, & he built that into our family business, which we still do to this day and I love it! I respect family business.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
What’s interesting is with me being a Creative Director, I didn’t know that this was something that I was going to fully get into. With how I fell into this particular part of work it was just like I was already doing it since the beginning but I didn’t have the title of it yet lol. I would be asked about my opinion on different ideas on an design for a event or just an idea on how a music video should go and then it just started building over time. See with what I do, I help to organize and manage certain ideas that are giving to me and to guide in how a certain design should go for the better appeal. And that’s why when given my service to independent businesses, they enjoy the completed work I deliver because I help to finalize a great purpose that first started off as a incomplete idea. Truly, that is what makes my service so amazing. To take a ideal and help a customer bring it to a more wider audience and for it to be an appealing design is what sets me apart. That is something I definitely want future potential clients to know.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
With building my audience on social media I would find myself just networking with other people and commenting under pages letting them know what I did and to check me out and just doing exchanges for the help of getting my following count up. I would support other businesses and would constantly put my designs up in edits and many content creators and people would actually like what I was presenting. And that’s why I would say my advice for anyone just now starting to build their social media presence is to move smart not hard. Find yourself networking. That’s the key.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation within my market was and is not just the work I present but to be honest it is my character and nature I grant to all that get around me. My honesty and righteous work ethic helped to deliver that reputation of “beautiful spirit” & “Amazing work ethic”.
