We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tomecca Millender a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tomecca, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
As the reigning Ms.Georgia All World Beauties Elite, I’ve overcome many obstacles in my life; Financial hardships, divorce, fertility challenges, spiritual hurt, depression, and parental disregard. Creating the platform: Heels to Heal has given me the opportunity to share my story using my outgoing personality on reality TV, speaking engagements, my travels, authorship and my career as a Behavioral health professional. I’m more than comfortable with sharing the trials I’ve encountered. I aspire to empower those who want to tackle their goals and become the powerful beings they are destined to be.
“Women are powerful.” It took a long time for me to recognize my power. I have been through so many trials and tribulations that could have left me deprived and destitute but somehow I have found the strength to carry on. I have gone from walking timidly in my tennis shoes to dancing with intention in my stilettos.
Tomecca, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As a critically acclaimed author, of my second book “Heels to Heal Chronicles A 20 day Motivational Guide”, and I have also collaborated with other other’s such as; “I Can Hear your Heart, and She is the Ish, Survive to Conquer”, a Behavioral Healthcare Professional and New business owner. My spunky personality has awarded me the opportunity to appear on Bravo’s Blind Date S1.ep134 and Film Engaged in Vegas 2020. I am also a brand Ambassador for Her honor Code, Big Girl Season 365 and Hit the Don sports apparel. With these different platforms I can captivate my audience with my authenticity, sense of humor and encourage others to walk in their truth.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Overcoming Life’s Difficulties with Laughter”
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, my goal is to build a safe haven for behavioral health patients transitioning from inpatient back to reality. I see so many patients being discharged with nowhere to go and I would like to provide that for them as they find a newer residence. I am very passionate about homelessness and mental health because I remember going through that once in my life. I’ve always strive for excellence in everything I do, some find being millionaires, instafamous has a goal, I just want to be influential. It’s a struggle when you have heart as big as mine, with limited financial resources and support. I work several jobs building a safe haven for myself, one day I will provide transitioning inpatient adolescents and Women to temporary outpatient housing.
