Dai, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I feel like my journey in the entertainment industry has been quite extensive and unique, which a lot of people don’t know… I first seeked an interest in entertainment at the age of 6, when I took it upon myself to write a song. My mom saw this spark in me and decided to help me produce the song and honestly, since then I’ve just been tackling the entertainment industry in new ways. So, yeah! My introduction to the booming entertainment industry was artistry, and now my biggest contribution to that same industry is covering media and posting content online as an influencer.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Dai Time and I’m an 18 year old CEO, host, influencer and also a full-time college student studying journalism. Honestly, the best way to describe myself is that I’m just a girl! I love to do all the cute things pertaining to fashion and skincare, but most of all I LOVE to talk. Ironically, my love for chatter is how I wound up as a host.
Becoming a host was not intentional as it began as a single opportunity to conduct interviews on a red carpet in Atlanta, but now I couldn’t imagine my life without hosting & being a part of the media. In the midst of it all, I fell into content creation which was also unintentional. However I’m so grateful to say that it has resulted in an amazing community online that allows me to not only connect with people my age around the world, but also to be a voice for them too.
My work online as both a host and influencer has blessed me with so many great opportunities to make an impact on my generation, like my show on Snapchat, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
All I can say is that my generation inspires me greatly. I’m constantly driven by my desire to touch other members of my generation to inspire them to be great in their own ways, and to show them what it looks like for me. Online I also strive to be a friend, an authentic source for my generation to show my peers that we are indeed all going through the same issues and that we’re not alone because we have each other.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The community!!! I have to say that besides getting unique opportunities to explore the world, and learn more about myself and my own creative abilities… Being a figure online has helped me to build such an amazing community. It warms my heart to know that there are other Gen Z’ers out there rooting for me the same way I’m rooting for them. And I also think there’s another gift in just the concept of being able to document important moments of my life while being able to touch and connect with my peers through my documentation.
