Dr. John L. Graham was the most remarkable boss I have ever had. When I was searching for a teaching job, he assured me that he would remember me. Just two weeks later, he shared news about a partnership he had established at Riker’s Island. With unwavering conviction, he looked me in the eye and said, “You are a nice person; I want you to teach at the jail.” I was initially taken aback by this unexpected proposition, but I felt a strong sense of purpose to accept it. My desire to uplift and inspire those in the jails became the highlight of my teaching career. Interestingly, a few years prior, someone with spiritual insight told me I would “teach in a prison,” and I had laughed at the notion! It turns out he was right. Dr. Graham, my former boss and mentor, also advised me to always keep my circle small.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Crystal Healing Oracles LLC was founded in late 2020 during the pandemic, a pivotal time when I experienced a spiritual awakening. It was then that I decided to embrace my spiritual gifts and transition into a professional entrepreneurial career. This journey led me to leave my full-time teaching position at the college to pursue my passion for spiritual health and wellness.
During this transition, I enrolled in an online course designed for spiritually inclined individuals, which focused on attracting wealth and abundance. The affirmations I learned and the networking opportunities I engaged in were instrumental in developing my spiritual business. Initially, building my presence was challenging, but I turned to social media to promote myself. I gained my first clients by offering free readings under a pseudonym on an online platform, quickly gaining popularity through my psychic readings in exchange for testimonials. I learned that testimonials are crucial, and they laid the groundwork for my business. As clients shared their experiences regarding love, life, pregnancy, and career concerns, I became a highly sought-after psychic.
My psychic gifts have been with me since birth; my mother named me Crystal and affectionately called me “Crystal Ball,” a name she chose intentionally. I have vivid memories from when I was one-and-a-half years old, expressing joy at being outside of her womb, remarking, “It was very dark in there,” and “I couldn’t see anything!” As a sensitive and empathic child, I first encountered a spirit at age five when my mother placed me on the sheets of my deceased older brother, Christopher. That moment was confusing and frightening, as I was face-to-face with a deceased person for the first time.
This gift runs in my family, and I’ve traced it back through six generations, hearing stories from my mother and grandmother. My mother is also highly gifted, particularly through her dreams. My abilities manifest in several ways, including clairvoyance (clear vision), clairaudience (clear hearing), clairsentience (clear feeling), and clairempathy (clear emotion). I consider clairaudience to be my strongest gift, as I receive numerous messages from the spiritual realm that help me address my clients’ concerns. Many clients have commented on my “scarily accurate” insights, and some feel “nervous” because I can perceive beyond the earthly realm.
I take great pride in having built my brand independently and in being able to assist many individuals on their twin flame journeys, which often involve deep emotional connections filled with heartache. Being a light worker and helping others is a true accomplishment for me. In a short time, I’ve attracted attention from a variety of media, including an acquisitions editor from Callisto Media who reached out to publish a book on numerology and astrology, and a TV production company that filmed a pilot for the Lifetime network titled “Psychic Call Center.” Even though the pilot didn’t get picked up, I still feel that Hollywood has taken notice of me because there are not enough women of color, like myself, who get to be renowned psychics on television. How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
To help build my reputation, I turned to social media platforms, particularly Instagram, which proved to be an invaluable resource. During a workshop I attended in 2020, the owner of the company emphasized the critical role that social media plays in promoting our businesses and gathering testimonials from satisfied clients. Understanding this, I made it my priority to educate myself about social media marketing, recognizing that Instagram was a free and powerful tool for reaching a wider audience.
Once I settled on a name for my business and successfully registered my LLC, I eagerly created an Instagram account to showcase my work. A key factor in establishing my reputation was being the face of my brand; I embraced the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and connect authentically with potential clients. I utilized platforms like Canva to create eye-catching advertisements, and, upon the suggestion of my brother, I took the leap to build my own website. Initially, I was skeptical about my ability to do this, but to my surprise, I successfully created a professional-looking site that became a hub for my services.
To further enhance my brand’s visibility, I invested in a Canon camera and began taking my own headshots, ensuring that my online presence felt personal and relatable. I ventured into publishing, crafting my own divination tools, including my first tarot deck, The Melanin Tarot, which quickly became my most popular offering. Additionally, I developed several oracle cards, such as the Twin Flame Journey Oracle, Twin Flame Affirmations, Divine Light Messages (volume one and volume two), The Spirit Baby Oracle, Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine: Love in 5D, The Soul’s Journey, Crystal Healing Oracle, and Xo Xo Messages, which all gained traction among fellow psychics and tarot readers, helping to spread my name and services even further.
Most importantly, I built a strong reputation by being true to myself. Many clients expressed their appreciation for my warm personality, noting how approachable, honest, and friendly I am. Their positive feedback reinforced my belief in the power of authenticity in building connections. My mother always said, “When people like you, they will help you,” and this wisdom has guided me throughout my journey. By being genuine and relatable, I have fostered a community of clients who not only trust my abilities but also feel valued and understood. As I continue to grow my business, I remain committed to nurturing these relationships and staying true to the essence of who I am.

There were numerous instances during the height of my business when I felt overwhelmed and considered giving up. Crystal Healing Oracles is a psychic company that offers a range of psychic services and divination tools. As with many in this field, I encountered skepticism from those who believe that psychics are not real, making it challenging to prove the validity of my spiritual gifts to individuals who lack emotional intelligence or an understanding of the metaphysical.
One significant hurdle I faced was the common misconception that psychics should provide their services for free. I often found myself having to clarify on my Instagram and TikTok pages that I do not offer complimentary readings or services. I liken it to visiting a doctor’s office: when you receive medical care, you wouldn’t expect to pay nothing for that service, would you? The doctor deserves to be compensated for their expertise and time, just as I, as a psychic, deserve to be paid for the insights and guidance I provide.
Despite these challenges, my resilience propelled me to continue on the path I was meant to follow, which is to offer guidance and support to those who seek it. I firmly believe that my gifts were bestowed upon me to help others navigate their lives. Reflecting on these struggles reminds me of a powerful quote from the movie “A Bronx Tale,” where the character Lorenzo Anello states, “The saddest thing in life is wasted talent. You could have all the talent in the world, but if you don’t do the right thing, then nothing happens. But when you do right, guess what? Good things happen. You hear me?”
This sentiment resonates deeply with me. It serves as a reminder that while talent is a gift, it is how we choose to utilize that talent that truly matters. I have made it my mission not only to honor my abilities but also to ensure that I remain steadfast in my commitment to helping others. Each challenge I face strengthens my resolve and reinforces the importance of my work. I have learned that perseverance in the face of adversity is essential, and by staying true to my purpose, I can create positive outcomes not just for myself, but for those who rely on my guidance.
