We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Corduroy Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alan below.
Corduroy Brown, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
The idea of leaving a legacy is intimidating, but also invigorating because it kind of brings mortality and a finality to life, but also is an open invite to make as big of a difference you can. We get this ONE time to be here and we can do anything we want. There’s a lot of pressure in 2022. Somewhere down the line, society made it to where you have to “be” something, or someone. A legacy isn’t always something that is on a plaque, or statue. Some of the most influential people in my life are leaving a legacy everyday by just being.
You don’t have to be a world leader or superhero. There’s too much pressure for that. I know I’m responsible for the little chunk of the world that I’ve been given. If we all take our little bit, it adds up to so much, That’s how we make a legacy. I hope I made the small piece of earth I’m responsible for the best it can be.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
You know the kid that your grandparent’s call to “fix” their TV or remote? I was that kid. Always the techy one. That really led to what I do now. I work for an ad agency, and worked at a TV station, but always have my hands in everything. I’m a community leader and speak openly about mental health struggles. I’m somehow lucky enough to be able to speak and connect with people easily. I love public speaking. I’m proud and blessed to be surrounded by so many people that have my back.
It’s a journey everyday. I’m a musician as well (Corduroy Brown) and mostly everything I’ve done career wise has helped further the passion I have for music. They go hand in hand.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
Right now, it seems like a flex for rich people. Kind of a bust, but I guess anything can hold value at some point.

Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
A second chance on this earth. I basically died last year, and there’s a lot you learn when faced with mortality. Time is ticking so fast for everyone, its scary. I just want to DO everything. What am I actually waiting for?
