We were lucky to catch up with Chester Walker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Chester thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
I strongly believe in vacations. A chance to reset. refocus. and most of all, rest.
I get a lot of ideas for my page on vacation as well. I keep it going by showing foods and business in different parts of the world.
I don’t care who you are and what you do. I urge you to take care of your mental health and take a vacation. Your business will be there. Your TIME will not. It doesn’t even have to be flying or driving somewhere, you can make it a staycation at home. Take care of YOURSELF first.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started “Theblessedfoodie” 8 years ago and I’ve been taking pics of foods since 2006. At first it started as a hobby. Going out with friends and family and taking pics of food randomly.I loved the way they were plating and the way the food looked. Everyone would be constantly frustrated with me as I would interrupt their meals taking pics.
I started posting those pics on Instagram and Facebook and would get likes and comments that would say: Wow! or looks delicious! Thanks! “you have an eye for a good photo”! That’s what drove me to just to start doing it. Having other people enjoy what I’m eating from my perspective! Thus, Theblessedfoodie was born!
I provide Promo services to Family owned restaurants and businesses to advertise to people that may not know who they are and what they provide in the area! The food, ambiance, and the vibe is the key! People WILL drive out and go to these places!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part has to be seeing the looks on my family and friends when they see my work on social media, newspapers, TV, or even by other people.
I also love showing the world my craft and and how far I can go!
Working on my own time and schedule has been a dream of mine as well! I’ve always wanted to work when I wanted and not someone else telling me!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I think the most effective thing is to build a a strong client relationship. You never know where that is going to take you. I love to network with people. That is one of the reasons where I got to where I am today. Talking with different businesses, then they refer me to other places and so forth.
Keeping your word and delivering quality work is also needed. I look for the perfect shot, listen to their wants and needs, Make your work memorable.
You have to take constructive criticism.
