We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chata Harris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chata below.
Chata, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
If I could go back in time I definitely would have started my creative career sooner. When I 1st started out in the beauty industry I was very scared to be creative. I didn’t want to be looked at as weird. But soon I realized embracing my individuality in the beauty industry was so Freeing beautiful and inspiring to myself and others. I feel that whenever you start doesn’t matter essentially we all kick ourselves for not doing things. A little vow I made for myself is to after what I want so I don’t have regrets later. Life becomes so much more amazing when you take those those chances. We as humans never stop learning. In my younger years I wish I would have been more receptive and started sooner and listen to more of my elders. When I look back on my life though I realized everything was in perfect timing.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started off of the beauty industry solely doing hair. I did hair full time for many years. I wanted to grow my clientele and started an Instagram page. Shortly after I started implementing my makeup services. I started to become more creative on myself with my hair and makeup and soon realized that many took a liking to it. With the love for all things beauty I started to work as an influencer for brands. Now I have the pleasure of serving makeup clients, working as an influencer, and speaking at conventions as a cosplay artist.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Honestly to make people smile. I know it seems like the miss America answer but seriously to be able to create something others enjoy is very special to me.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Honestly I thought I had to start over so many times in my creative journey. But then learned its all building. Every skill I have earned I take it with me to my next level and so forth. So the goal for me is just to be better than I was yesterday and keep building.
