We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chandler Bobbitt a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Chandler, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
There is something so special about a name. I remember always having an aversion to my name, Chandler, because I didn’t feel connected to it when I was younger. It wasn’t until my parents explained to me the story and meaning behind why they gave me that name, that I truly resonated with it.
When it comes to my business, I want my mission and values to be connected and made obvious in the name. I believe that everyone has a story and that every story is sacred. Calling my business ‘These Sacred Stories’ is a reminder that every story is worthy to be told and wedding filmmaking is such a beautiful way to capture it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have been filming since I was old enough to direct my cousins (which was about age 7) and I haven’t put the camera down since. I think the art of filmmaking is something magical. The way you can capture the raw, genuine feelings of a moment is unlike anything else.
I am a Pickleball enthusiast, lover of chocolate, and have a soft spot in my soul for all things British. I love Jesus and hope that each piece of my creativity is a reflection of Him!

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
I am definitely a believer in following your creative passion. Ever since I was really young, I would beg my mom to use our camcorder. I remember always bringing a camera with me wherever I would go and dreaming and scheming about my next film I would direct. I followed a few other interests. I graduated high school, but always came back to filmmaking in my spare time. I had a friend asked me to create a wedding film for her, and realized that entrepreneurship and film had always been my dream career.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I find that I am able to be my most genuine and creative self when I am in a creative role as my full-time career. The way I am able to capture couples on one of their most important days and get an intimate look into their lives, gives me such a sense of purpose. It is so inspiring to me to know that the content I capture will be a gift to the couple for decades to come.
