Cedrick, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I’d want my legacy to be that I helped as many people as I could — that I showed up with consistency and stayed grounded, never getting too high or too low. I hope to be remembered as someone who loved deeply and gave 110% to every relationship I was part of.
Cedrick, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a commercial photographer based in Nashville, TN. I discovered my passion for photography early on during a shoot with local musician Carla (Cappa). Her reaction to the final images gave me the confidence to pursue this as a career. Since then, word of mouth has been the driving force behind my growth.
My focus is helping artists and brands bring their visual ideas to life. I do this by first understanding their creative vision, then assembling the right team—whether that’s a stylist, makeup artist, set designer, or more—to execute it at a high level.
What I’m most proud of is how often clients refer me to others. That’s how I’ve built my business and make a living today. I’ve always believed that if you do great work and treat people well, opportunities will come—and so far, that belief has taken me far.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think what’s helped me build my reputation is simply treating people with respect and keeping the process fun. My main goal is always to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera—because once that trust is there, that’s when the best photos and videos happen.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Once you find the right people for specific rolls on a shoot . The job is much more fun that way and runs way smoother
