We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cassandra Bolden a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cassandra, appreciate you joining us today. One deeply underappreciated facet of entrepreneurship is the kind of crazy stuff we have to deal with as business owners. Sometimes it’s crazy positive sometimes it’s crazy negative, but crazy experiences unite entrepreneurs regardless of industry. Can you share a crazy story with our readers?
One of the craziest things that happened with our business was when we unexpectedly landed a high-profile client. It happened as we were sourcing new opportunities and landed a client who turned out to be the wife of an NFL player. At first, we were ecstatic at the prospect of working with this new client, but we soon realized that this partnership would come with unique challenges.
With the wife of an NFL player as our client, we suddenly found ourselves in the spotlight. This meant that we had to be extra careful with our every move and ensure that we did not do anything that could potentially harm our client’s reputation. Additionally, we had to be prepared to work with a client who had a busy schedule and was highly demanding.
Despite the challenges, we successfully navigated the partnership and delivered results that exceeded our client’s expectations. This helped cement our business’s reputation as a reliable and trustworthy partner and opened new doors for us regarding future opportunities. Ultimately, this experience taught us the importance of being adaptable and flexible and the benefits of taking risks and embracing new opportunities.

Cassandra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
In the dynamic tapestry of life, few stories resonate as deeply as those of my own. A woman of strength, love, and boundless ambition, I effortlessly wear the hats of a loving wife, devoted mother to four, and a proud “GG” to seven, with the delightful anticipation of number eight on the horizon. Fueled by a robust background in sales and marketing, I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey alongside our three daughters (Jessica, Jazmine, and Jayla), driven by a shared passion for crafting a flourishing candle-making business that would meet the needs of those seeking eco-friendly and sustainable home fragrances and those that do not shy away from premium products with a premium price point.
I, alongside our three daughters, embarked on this thrilling adventure of business creation. Our family dynamic strengthens our bonds and infuses the business with a unique blend of diverse talents, perspectives, and a shared vision for success. Together, we can navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship, identify opportunities, and weave a tapestry of innovative strategies to push the family business forward.
In a world where consciousness meets elegance, we wanted our candle company to not only light up any space but also illuminate the path towards a sustainable future. With an unwavering commitment to eco-friendliness, we stand out as a beacon of luxury, offering premium candles that are as environmentally conscious as they are beautifully crafted.
Our customers aren’t just purchasing a product; they are making a statement, endorsing a lifestyle that harmonizes luxury with a profound respect for the planet.
We believe and stand as a testament to the idea that luxury and sustainability can coexist harmoniously.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
In social media, where every like and follow is a step towards visibility, we soon learned that this journey had to reflect authenticity and passion. We built a devoted online community, proving that success on social media is not just about the numbers, but about the authenticity that illustrates every post.
As we documented our creative process on our different platforms, the team and I unknowingly laid the foundation for an authentic narrative that would resonate with like-minded individuals. It’s about telling a story that will echo with our audience, and the story may not always be pretty. Being authentic is also being transparent about what worked and has not worked.
My advice for potential entrepreneurs is simple—don’t watch the number of followers; be authentic and focus on content. In time, the followers will come. No matter the industry.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Maintaining strong client relationships and fostering brand loyalty is crucial for the success of our company. A few ways that we do this is by making every experience personal. We remember details about their preferences, purchase history, and special occasions. We include personalized touches, such as handwritten notes or exclusive offers, to show that we value them as individuals.
Also, our customer service inquiry time is very prompt, usually within a few hours during the business day. We also keep our customers and clients updated by posting regularly and distributing a newsletter every other month.
Additionally, we stay aware of industry trends and customer preferences by introducing new and innovative products that align with current trends. Keeping our product offerings fresh and relevant contributes to sustained interest and loyalty.
