We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Carrie Sistare a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Carrie , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a client that you appreciate them?
One of the most meaningful things I’ve done to show a client how much I appreciate them is sending personalized gratitude cards. At Sistare Southern Properties Team, we live by our motto: Sell, Serve, Partner, and Thrive, and truly believe that our relationship extends beyond the property.
We make it a priority to stay connected with our clients through quarterly check-ins—whether it’s a phone call, text, or a handwritten card. It’s not about sales; it’s about connection. Recently, we sent out gratitude cards for November, expressing our genuine thanks for the trust our clients placed in us. The responses we received brought so much joy. Texts like “This made my day!” or “Thank you for thinking of me!” were reminders that these small gestures have a big impact.
What makes this so special is the simplicity. Life can be overwhelming, and a heartfelt card or message can bring a moment of comfort or joy. For one client, it arrived during a tough time, and they told me it felt like a “hug in the mail.” That’s why we do it—because we care about the people, not just the transactions.
In real estate and in life, it’s easy to move on to the next task or project, but I believe in celebrating my clients’ personal wins, being there in their tough moments, and nurturing those relationships long after the closing day. To me, showing appreciation isn’t about grand gestures—it’s about consistency, authenticity, and making sure people feel valued and cared for as part of our extended family.

I’m Carrie Sistare, and I’m proud to lead the Sistare Southern Properties Team alongside my husband, Joe, serving Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and the surrounding areas of Horry County, SC.
