We were lucky to catch up with Carolyn Jaynes recently and have shared our conversation below.
Carolyn, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I’ve ever worked on has been writing and self-publishing five non-fiction books. Each story collection is a personal journal of my life lessons and spiritual awakening adventures. These experiences led to how I discovered I’m an empath and spirit medium. My mission is to uplift, inspire and inform seekers about the spirit world and to help people heal from grief, overcome their fear of death (there is no death) and be open to the concepts of spirit guides, Galactic beings, and connecting with loved ones in spirit.
Sprinkles from Heaven – Stories of Serendipity, my first book, manifested easily. The right people showed up as if destiny was calling. Seasoned editors edited for free. I met other creative authors, joined Read and Critique Groups to take my writing to a higher level, and attended San Diego Writers and Editors Guild where I contributed to their anthologies. Then my story got published in Chicken Soup for the Soul – Angels All Around. All this occurred while I was living for free in a house in San Diego. It was if the whole universe conjoined to make sure my books were written and published. I felt so supported!
Like most authors, I accumulated my share of rejection letters from literary agents and publishers. I decided to publish on Amazon myself. I had a lot to learn, but I took it tiny step by tiny step. Just like writing a book is one sentence at a time, publishing is simply following their format. My motto was, “One easy task at a time,” so I didn’t get overwhelmed with so much to do.
The second book, Twinkles from Heaven – The Mystical in the Mundane” came out three years after the first book with more intriguing stories as I awakened further to my psychic abilities. I knew if I was having these experiences, others were too! Maybe my sharing them would help others feel comfortable sharing their remarkable stories, too.
Writing was a way to share the deeper spiritual side of my life with others who might benefit from that validation and make it safe and okay to talk about. I didn’t care who believed me or not. Who can argue with a personal experience? I was living it. After a while, I wondered if I was writing the book or if the book was writing my life? They seemed so intertwined and connected. It was as if I was meant to do this all my life and just didn’t know it until it was revealed.
My third book, Ripples of Faith – Living Inside Out, chronicles major moves from San Diego to Albuquerque, to my home town of Minneapolis, and then to magical Honolulu, Hawaii – a dream come true! My manifesting skills kept improving with belief, action and practice. If I can do this, anybody can. It was a matter of following spiritual protocol to ignite the Law of Attraction in all its glory to help me and others. I saw my first ghost and manifested all the free furniture I needed for free!
Fourth was Whispers of Spirit – A Medium’s Journey. In this book, I shared some of the amazing things that happened in my quantum healing hypnosis session and weekly mediumship classes. I had the privilege of working with three talented Reverends whose mediumship skills I admired.
At first, I heard relevant songs for people, because I was a professional singer. But then an experienced medium told me, “I started out hearing songs, too.” Three years later she was giving fabulous messages from our church stage. I thought, Wow I want to do that! The spirit world heard me. Soon I was giving messages on the same stage in front of a church full of people – before I had a chance to do my first one-on-one reading. I never had time to worry. I was called up by the Reverend and trusted that spirit would lead the way if I let go. Then of course, I wrote about it in my book.
As I wrote the books about my life unfolding in miraculous ways, I was also teaching classes and doing book signings which were fun, joyful, and interesting. Participants would share their own other-worldly experiences and we had a sacred space to talk about spiritual experiences and support each other. I could finally truly be myself. I taught at spiritualist churches, Science of Mind centers, libraries, senior communities, and anywhere people were open to learning more about their own spirituality.
My fifth and last book came out in 2025, and it really took me waaaay out there. I recommend that readers wait to read it until they’ve read my other four books first. Unspoken Dreams and Inner Explorations details the deep meditation expeditions my mediumship class and I took as we met our many spirit guides, galactic helpers, angels and spirit healers. We accessed our Akashic records many times, seeing ourselves as the people we were in past lives and the lessons we achieved in those incarnations.
I was told, “The people who are behind you in spiritual growth cannot understand.” Just like I couldn’t comprehend these things until I experienced them myself.
I see people opening up to the spirit world more and more and I find this very exciting. I know my books were written to help people and they will find their way into their lives when they are ready to explore deeper knowledge. I look forward to being one of the many way showers and supporting the ascension of the planet as everyone learns to raise their energy vibrations and live more in alignment with their eternal spiritual selves.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I’ve morphed into several different careers in my life. At 65, I’m retired now and spend my days gardening on my secluded farm with my spunky dog and mellow cat. After a busy life around lots of people, it’s been wonderful to step back from the spotlight and grow my own food and flowers from seeds. The nearest small town is half an hour away, but I am happy to travel and teach online.
I teach how to raise your vibration, how to manifest what you want, how to notice signs from your loved ones in spirit (to be your own medium) and insights about your past lives. My spirit guide, Tobias, a wise Neanderthal, told me I don’t have to write anymore books, (they are a lot of work,) but I’m still having awesome spiritual experiences and gladly share them in my classes and talks.
If you order print books from my website, I’m pleased to sign them for you. If you order an audiobook or eBook from Amazon, that’s fine, too. I share my books, classes, music, along with photos and videos on CarolynJaynes.com. If you want an online or in person class, you can reach me at SprinklesfromHeaven@gmail.com or CarolynJaynesAuthor@gmail.com. I look forward to sharing my spiritual adventures with you and learning more about you, too. We are all in this Earth class together.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I froze in Minnesota and longed for warm weather, I simply went to San Diego and stayed with my cousin until I found work and housing. I felt called to go there, like it was written in my spiritual blueprint. I followed my heart, took immense risks, failed sometimes, but it only taught me how to do better next time. Taking risks is what life is all about. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself – living by the majestic ocean, roller-skating every weekend with friends, singing at senior communities, dancing Zumba, MJ’s Thriller in costume, and windsurfing like a wild woman. I started over many times. My faith never left me, even when I was sleeping in my car! Things always change. When I believed in my dreams, they came true. I now own a 5 acre hobby farm in California. I love it.
Always believe in your dreams and trust your intuition. It knows where to go and how to get there, even if you don’t.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to be authentically me and make it ok for everyone else to be authentic, too. I love giving mediumship messages but it’s really just for fun. My goal is to teach people about the spiritual side of life, to open minds, to create a safe space for support and validation. Sharing my truth makes it easier for others to share their truth, too, even if it’s weird. I never wanted to ne “normal.” We are all unique snowflakes and that is how our Creator/Source made us. Conformity hasn’t worked. Diversity is natural. We see it everywhere. Even the same breed of dog has many personalities. You have your own journey and I have mine. None of us are alike and yet there is a vast Oneness that connects us to each other in amazing ways. Oneness rules.
