Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carlton Harp IV. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Carlton, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I manage my own for right now. If I was doing major things with my social media I would definitely hire a manager. The choice was easy it’s more organic to me. And by organic I mean relatable. I think people go for that more now days.

Carlton, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Where do I start…. I am sort of an introverted social people person lol. That was a mouth full huh… I went a from mechanical engineering major to a communication design major. I always liked the way things looked and felt as you explore the world around you. What i noticed was how things were read or not read correctly. My first job was working for LSU Health Medical School. There I worked as a hybrid creative. I learned so much about the medical field, with the most interesting shooting in ORs or ERs. With my start being there i learned more of a corporate world to art.
So my work consists of graphic art, photography, and video. My goal is to help the less informed for their communication needs. I focus on branding mostly… making sure a brand is clear and concise. I have worked with all types of clients from corporate to churches to music.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Recently moving to DFW area. I had to start almost over. I found the old ways I built my business up before is not the same now. I had to quickly learn new things and brainstorm creative ways to get new clients.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My personality and patience in a nutshell. I can get along with almost anyone. I take things slow to get to know clients so i can help them tell their story better. Being open and not closed off helps tremendously.
