We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cara D’Adamo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cara below.
Cara, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I’ve loved music and acting for as long as I can remember. I started performing really young, growing up in a family of artists, my Dad’s a musician, my Mom is an artist, so creativity was always around me. My cousins and I would put on these little musical plays for our family, and something about that just stuck with me.
I had a music teacher who really encouraged me to pursue it seriously, but it wasn’t until I was scouted by an agent at the mall that I started to see a real path forward. That was the moment where it all felt possible.
Now, twenty years later, I’m still on this journey, and I’m really grateful for it. It hasn’t always been easy, this path asks a lot of you, but I really believe in the power of what we do as artists. We have the ability to move people, shift perspectives, and leave something meaningful behind, even in small ways.
For me, it’s not just a career. It’s how I live, how I connect with people, and how I hope to make a lasting impact.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Cara D’Adamo, a multi-versed artist, performer, entrepreneur, and the Founder of Faith Over Fear Studio & Productions.
I grew up in a deeply creative family, surrounded by artists on every side. Creativity wasn’t something I discovered later in life, it was the environment I was raised in, and in many ways, it shaped how I learned to see and move through the world. Art became both my language and my grounding force.
I started performing very young in musical theater, choir, and comedy, and I made my first televised appearance on Nickelodeon when I was just five years old. While it was an incredible moment, I don’t think I fully understood it at the time. Looking back, though, I can see that it was the beginning of art that would grow with me through every phase of who I was becoming.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in both the music and entertainment industry. I was part of a girl group with Atlantic Records and appeared in music videos alongside Grammy Award-winning artists. I acted in stage, film, television, and national commercial campaigns. On the outside, it can look like a steady climb, but the truth is it’s also been a path of learning how to navigate identity, pressure, rejection, comparison, and constantly evolving versions of myself.
There have been moments of deep certainty and moments where I questioned everything, where I had to learn how to rebuild my confidence from the inside out, and reconnect with why I started creating in the first place.
Faith Over Fear Studio & Productions came from that place. It wasn’t just an idea, it was something I wanted to build for other artists who might be walking through similar experiences. It’s a space for mentoring, development, and creative support, but more than that, it’s rooted in the belief that artists deserve to feel seen and heard. Through coaching, workshops, artist development, and production, my intention is to help create space for all voices.
I am also very grateful to be a part of the Board of Directors for the Meliora Initiative (Meliora International Film Festival) and an Executive Member of New York Women in Film & Television. Both positions allow me to stay connected to advocacy, community, and expanding access within this industry I care so deeply about.
At the center of everything I do is a belief that art is not just something we perform,
it’s something that connects us. It reflects who we are, what we’ve lived through, and what we’re still trying to understand. Sometimes it even says what we don’t yet have words for.
Although I’ve been blessed with so many opportunities, I have also seen and experienced the hardships of this industry. So, if I could offer any advice to someone pursuing this path, it would be to stay patient with your process. Keep showing up, even when things feel uncertain. Growth in this industry takes time, but consistency, resilience, and belief in your craft will carry you further than anything else.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is the ability to connect with people emotionally through the art of storytelling. I get to step into different characters and experiences, and hopefully bring those moments to life in a way that feels real and relatable to an audience. Knowing that someone can see a performance and feel understood, moved, or even less alone is what makes the work truly meaningful for me.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I think society can support artists best by making creativity sustainable and accessible through fair compensation, stronger arts education, and real investment in spaces and platforms where diverse voices can be seen and heard. When artists aren’t constantly forced to choose between their craft and financial stability, they’re able to take more creative risks and produce more meaningful work. Having that support would help artists connect more with people and contribute to culture in a meaningful way.
