We were lucky to catch up with Camron Ware recently and have shared our conversation below.
Camron, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
My wife and I have always loved creating experiences with visuals and story, specifically with video projection mapping. I first started experimenting with small projectors almost 20 years ago as a way to
digitally paint the inside of rooms as a transformative tool. We got a huge response and saw a need.
We started Lightware Labs as a way to make projection mapping accessible to everyone, even if you aren’t a large company with huge budget.
We love being able to transform almost any kind of venue or room into anything using video, with a simply push of a button.
Camron, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are Camron and Courtney Ware, owners and operators of Lightware Labs, a projection mapping company located in Dallas, and serving all over Texas and surrounding states.
Using projectors, computers, media content, and lots of fun; we are able to bring immersive, interactive, and transformative experiences to theaters, schools, event venues, weddings, parties, art exhibits…and much more!
We’re most proud of how flexible and adaptable we are, solving problems and making the projection mapping work in almost any setting.
How’d you meet your business partner?
We actually met on a show doing our respective crafts, and we got married a year later!
Camron was doing projection and lighting for a theater show, and Courtney was filming and producing a behind-the-scenes story for the cast. We met at that show, and soon realized how our interests lined up.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Experience and word-of-mouth! Nothing can replace actually experiencing a giant building with video on it transforming in front of you, or a 360-degree immersive room transformed into giant artwork.
