We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cam Clear a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cam, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to provide premium, organic, herbal products to low to moderate income areas. The reason for this is the lack of resources and knowledge provided to those areas of natural herbs and how they can help heal the body.
Cam, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Here at CoreLyfe Naturals we serve to be a resource to our customers through transparency with our information on the products that we provide. We offer sea moss, elderberry, soursop, maca root, herbal tea blends, natural soaps, body butters, and so much more. We started in this industry due to one of our children being born with an irregular intestine. From there, Doctor’s told us it wasn’t much we could do to help or change that for him, but we did…with sea moss! That’s how this company started, because of him through the core.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My business partner is my wife. Little did I know that we would do this together. She’s always been full of life with a bubbly personality. It made it even better that she has a sales background. Initially, when I started this company, I wanted to help heal any and everyone. My wife help put into perspective that my time was valuable, my research was valuable, and my knowledge of our products are valuable. After time, it just transitioned into us being partners and we’ve been working together every since. We’re almost 3 years in now.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
When we first started this business, it was pre-pandemic times. The pandemic changed the way of the world. Although our products are helpful with fighting off viruses, cold, bacteria infections, etc. we didn’t really know how to connect with people in the new way the world was operating. We took the risk of going old school with door-to-door. Well, more like car to car. We use to hand out our business flyers in Costco parking lot. Literally, to anyone coming in or out and placing them on people’s vehicles. We didn’t think people would even give our flyers a look. Besides, we’re all out in mask covering our faces, some even in gloves. Some of the remarks from people were even discouraging. We continued to work through it. Needless to say, most of our original customers are those from that Costco parking lot. We have been able to retain those customers for 3 years and it feels great!
