We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brunjo Music Productions. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brunjo below.
Brunjo, appreciate you joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
The idea to start a music production company happened right before the 2020 pandemic, we were a couple semesters away from graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. It was Tanir who came up with the idea to form a production team after spending time in the Music Production and Engineering major. He decided to ask his friends Amelia and Jordan if they would be interested in joining, and they said yes! Now the only problem was deciding on a good name.
Tanir often found himself walking down Haviland Street while going back and forth between classes, and one day noticed the name “Brunjo” was written in the sidewalk. The name stuck with him, so he pitched the idea to the rest of the team. We really liked the name, it was so unique and funky! The only problem was that Tanir couldn’t remember if it was spelled with an ‘n’ in it or not. So Tanir went back to the sidewalk to check the spelling the next day and the sidewalk was being replaced. Just like that, the name was gone. We took this as a sign and decided to stick with the ‘n’ because it was so unique and easily stood out from other names. From a simple word written in the sidewalk concrete, Brunjo Music Productions was born.
The first project we did together was a five track EP for an artist we knew from school, which had to be recorded entirely remotely during the height of the pandemic. There were bumps along the way, remote recording was certainly not for the faint of heart, but we ended up working well together and the project came out great. It was this project that gave us the proof this company could actually work, and we excitedly began to seek out other artists to work with!
The next issue to solve was the matter of home-base location. Amelia’s parents had purchased a property in Kingston Springs, Tennessee, a year prior to the pandemic. The property had a separate building out back that operated as a recording studio in the 90s, but it had been abandoned for several years and was in complete disrepair. We started renovating the building during the pandemic to get a head start before we moved back down to Tennessee officially and rolled up our sleeves. We battled bugs, water damage, poor paint color choices and gross corporate carpeting just to name a few things, but The Warehouse slowly but surely came to be!
Now our studio boasts an Audient 8024 analog recording console, a cabinet full of microphones, handmade acoustic treatment, and our own little furry mascot- Jet the cat!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
All of us have spent most of our lives in music by starting to learn an instrument at early age. Amelia started on violin at 6, Jordan began on violin at 10 but found a passion for piano instead, and Tanir started drumming at 6 as well! We have been involved in numerous musical projects and bands in the past and bring that experience to our productions. We met in college where we not only honed our instrumental skills; we studied modern scoring, production and engineering techniques and earned degrees in those programs respectively. Since 2018 we have been making music together and developing our team dynamic to be able to give our artists and friends the best recording experience possible!
We offer a variety of services to do with music production and offer our space, The Warehouse, for filming and content purposes as well! Most tend to seek us out for our production services, which includes built in producers, engineers, session players, and studio time. We also offer studio room reservations for an hourly or day rate! The reservation includes one of our in-house recording engineers, which helps to take the pressure off an artist or producer to find someone to engineer their session. Aside from full productions and recording services, we also offer songwriting, instrumental or production lessons, arranging and film scoring services. The rooms may also be reserved for filming podcasts, content for social media, music videos and photography sessions.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For us the most rewarding part of being artists ourselves and working with artists is the opportunity to be part of their journey and being able to watch them grow musically! The absolute coolest thing is to be able to look back at the work we’ve done over the years and hear how the artist has evolved alongside us and how their work has changed. Everyone is constantly learning new skills and finding new interests, having it all come together in a cohesive project is one of the best feelings ever.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
When you boil down the process of music creation and what it entails, the real selling point for our clientele and what has helped build our reputation is who we are as people! When we were still in school, there was one rule our professors told us was of extreme importance in the music world: hang well. At first this seemed very obvious and it was easy to blow it off. However, this is the one rule that could make or break your business and impact your personal standing in the music industry. Our goal is always to create excellent productions and longstanding relationships with our clients, and we pride ourselves on helping artists feel comfortable to express themselves. The best outcome we could ever ask for is a fantastic record and an amazing friendship with the artist and the team that helped make it happen. Nothing is better for helping your reputation than making friends!
