We were lucky to catch up with Brittney Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brittney, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission is to provide premium marketing, branding and design services to small businesses and startups needing to take their businesses to the next level and stand out amongst the crowd.
The story behind my mission comes from my years in corporate, where I both worked and managed various marketing departments during those years. I had the pleasure to work on some great accounts for big/well-known brands who had mass budgets to get great marketing for their brand, services, and products. However, there was always something about ultimately doing marketing my way and to help small business owners succeed and provide them with the top-quality marketing big companies have access to. Which helped me further my goals to start my own business and provide my expertise to my ideal clientele and target audience.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a Marketing Consultant & Digital Content Creator for Small Businesses and Startups. As well as, the CEO/Founder of Brittney Williams Marketing Consulting. My inspiration for wanting to develop my own business started very young, and I pretty much have always had a love for creating and developing things, reading, writing, telling stories and being able to naturally establish relationships with others. Providing advice, and ultimately just being creative overall that caught the attention of others.
I got a chance to develop my craft even more throughout college while attending the University of North Texas (where I studied Entrepreneurship and Marketing) and onwards through the various corporate management positions I held with integrated Marketing, Advertising, and PR agencies within the DFW area over the years. Before finally taking my leap of faith to venture out on my own and do marketing MY WAY.
Ultimately, I just knew corporate life wasn’t for me. I enjoyed working on the big accounts and with well-known clients/brands. However, I wanted to help small business owners and startups with their online and offline Marketing, Content, Branding, and Social Media needs who had smaller budgets needed to obtain their ultimate marketing goals. Which I help them reach through marketing consulting, social media, forms of PR, Digital graphics and Effective marketing tactics and strategies.
I ran across so many people that always had questions about marketing, or how to grow their business with using their social media platforms and offline strategies, how to make their pages appealing to their followers, etc. Therefore, while I was still working my corporate job at the time, I began to do freelance work on the side, which began the process of my business ‘Brittney Williams Marketing Consulting’ and furthering my passion to consult and educate other business owners about marketing, why it’s beneficial to their business success and creating engaging/eye-catching/relatable and valuable content to make their brands stand out and reach their target audiences. Small business and startup owners are just as important as the big companies and I wanted to set out to be able to create a strong personal brand and full-service marketing agency that reflected just that.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I would say a few key things have helped me build my reputation over the years within my field/market and continues as of today. Great customer service/client facing, Attention to detail, quality work and knowing my field/being a go-to marketing expert for my target audience. My clients are amazing and I am truly passionate about my craft which can be seen and felt with each client, project or service I provide. Hearing and understanding my clients to bring their visions to life and helping them crush their goals is big for me and even more so for each of my clients.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Yes, my side hustle turned into my now full time business. During my time in corporate I begin doing freelance marketing work on the side where I begin consulting and social media management. I always knew that I wanted to have my own business and to help other small business owners with their marketing and branding. So, I began to make a path for myself and started the transition into full time entrepreneurship. Today, I have grown my business, brand and clientele greatly within the marketing industry/field. I have had the pleasure to work with so many amazing business owners and their brands and have met some amazing people along my journey thus far. I am excited to have expanded other areas of my business and to be able to offer my ideal clientele Marketing Consulting, Social media services, Branding and Design services needed to take them to the next level.
