We were lucky to catch up with Brielle Bethune recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brielle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
I was already consistently creating content for my AZFOMO Platform on Instagram and building visibility around my brand when I started seeing a need to expand beyond just content creation. Social media quickly became a major tool for growth and exposure for every business. It only made sense for me to grow my services when I recognized the opportunity to support local businesses in a deeper way.
I intentionally reached out to my first now client because I saw a clear way I could help, and realized I wanted to be involved beyond just creating content or filming a video. I was excited to help manage and grow accounts, actively contributing to strategy, execution and ads. My expertise also comes from my professional experience as a Senior Social Media Manager across various brands, and it only made sense to leverage those skills!
I wanted to make a bigger impact on local businesses, being hands-on with their accounts from behind the scenes too, not just in front of the camera.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

So, don’t get FOMO, and don’t miss out on the digital spotlight.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
New clients have come from both online visibility and in-person networking. Social media builds awareness and establishes authority, while face-to-face conversations strengthen trust and create meaningful connections. I’ve found that combining both is the best way to go. I have gotten new clients from all types of situations such as posting on Threads, sitting at a bar talking with a friend about social media marketing, intentional networking events, purposefully approaching people, randomly posting content to my own channels, a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend etc. Connections and who you know go a long way.
I’ve found that when you are passionate about your work, opportunities for new clients or customers will follow you everywhere!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
For years, I consistently posted, created, and refined my skills without immediate recognition, reward or payment. I was building quietly; experimenting, learning, and developing my vision even when results weren’t visible yet.
After showing up consistently for such a long time, I shifted my approach and focused on a more intentional strategy—creating content that was valuable, helpful, and aligned with what the Arizona audience actually needed. Thus, the AZFOMO brand was born. Once that shift happened, things started to resonate with others more. The growth became noticeable, engagement increased, and my content began to perform better because it was rooted in purpose instead of just output. This was a huge gamechanger. I became an expert in my field, and others started asking me for help, especially other local brands.
Most of that progress happened behind the scenes. It required time, discipline, and patience, especially during seasons where support wasn’t immediate and external validation was limited. I’m positive that other business owners can relate to the reality that while you’re building or still trying to establish yourself, the support you expect isn’t always there right away. There are moments when people doubt your vision simply because success hasn’t fully materialized yet, which is why it’s so important to believe in yourself through all of these seasons.
I had been working on developing FOMO Relations Marketing into an actual brand for a full year before I ever said a word to my AZFOMO audience. I spent another handful of months just preparing the launch campaign (which was actually super fun for me). Then, I felt it was time and made the decision to officially announce FOMO Relations to the world—even though it still wasn’t perfect. The brand was evolving, systems were still improving, and services were expanding. But I chose to trust the momentum I had already created, was confident I could take on more clients and launch publicly with confidence.
The immense amount of support after announcing brought visibility, new conversations, and new opportunities almost immediately. That momentum translated into clients, stronger brand awareness, and increased interest in the services I was offering.
That launch marked a turning point; turning years of disciplined quiet work into public recognition and positioning the business for continued growth. I couldn’t be more excited for the future of FRM.
