We were lucky to catch up with Brianna Jones recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brianna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
What I found is that it was hard to put together outfits as a mother two without spending hours and hours in my closet. By the time I would find something to wear, the baby is now crying, I need to fix lunch for both kids, etc and now I no longer even want to attend the festivities and plans. So I created a brand that solved that problem because I know their are other women with that issue. Rather she is a mother, entrepreneur, businesswoman or a collection and all of the beyond, our time is valuable.

Brianna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The Angelic Kollection is a luxury womenswear brand providing the woman that wears many hats with easy to style, figure- flattering fashions for every occasion. We provide women easy/ready to wear outfit options so they don’t have to put a lot of thought into getting dressed without compromising their style while they navigating through their everyday lives. When our customers wear their pieces from The Angelic Kollection, we aspire for them to embrace their curves and feel comfortable in their skin. Within the few months that we have launched the brand, we have created a community of women that value our mission, values and purpose and enjoying serving them. Our customers have made others aware of the brand and we are excited to see AK grow and scale over the next months and years to come.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I can say first hand that social media can be detrimental to the success of your brand. And me explain what I mean by that. It is easy to compare success and look at other companies and start to think that you aren’t doing enough. It’s very important to remain focus and “keep your eyes on your own paper” so to speak. You have no idea how long it took that brand to get there, what they are doing on the backend of their business, what marketing strategies they are using and so on and so forth. It’s more than taking pretty pictures and posting on social media to stand out and make a name for yourself. With The Angelic Kollection I focus on authenticity, that is really important at to me as a person and a business owner. My AK babes love when we “keep it real” lol. And I tend to keep that at the forefront of my business no matter if social media decides to go away today or tomorrow. For those just building a social media presence, I would not focus on the number focus on substance. If you are providing quality content, information, and inspiration to your audience trust me the number will grow eventually and the people will come.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn I would say would be doubt and self-limiting beliefs. You have to shift your mindset first before you can truly tap into your full potential. Setting realistic goals and evaluate what is stopping you from meeting those goals in your business. Trust me it’s easier said than done though that’s for sure. The sky is the limit with anything you do. When you put in hard work, success has no choice but to follow. Growing up, I wanted to be great at everything I touched. And now as an adult I’m realizing that is not possible. Mistakes, self backs, disappointments, all those lessons are important and necessary for growth. Give yourself grace !
