We recently connected with Briana Martin and have shared our conversation below.
Briana , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you get your first job in the field that you practice in today?
In 2024, I created the Fearless Hearts community from a lifelong calling to help others feel seen, heard, and supported. I have always felt that I was born to help people especially those navigating emotional pain, life transitions, and moments where they feel alone or misunderstood. Through my own lived experiences and passion for mental health advocacy, I recognized a deep need for safe, judgment-free spaces where individuals could vent, heal, and grow without fear or stigma. Fearless Hearts was built on compassion, empathy, and empowerment, offering emotional support, mentorship, and life coaching rooted in real understanding and heart-led guidance. What started as a vision to serve has grown into a supportive community dedicated to emotional wellness, self-care, and personal growth, reminding people that they are never alone and that their voices truly matter.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Through Fearless Hearts, I provide compassionate, non-clinical emotional support and guidance designed to meet people where they are. My services include the Fearless Hearts Text Line, a safe and judgment-free space for individuals to vent and feel heard; the Fearless Hearts Community Group, which fosters connection, encouragement, and shared healing; and personalized life coaching and mentoring focused on mindset, self-care, and personal growth. I also offer resource navigation support, helping individuals access information related to housing, food assistance, medical care, and other essential community resources. Together, these offerings create a holistic support system rooted in empathy, empowerment, and accessibility, with the goal of helping individuals feel supported, informed, and confident as they navigate life’s challenges.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn on this journey was the belief that everyone would be ready to receive help simply because my intentions were genuine. Early on, I poured my heart into serving others and felt frustrated when that effort wasn’t always met with engagement or readiness. Over time, I learned that not everyone is in a season where they want or are able to receive support and that is not a reflection of my worth or the value of what I offer. Now, I release the need to convince or carry others, and instead I focus on showing up fully for those who are ready and willing. I help those who want the support, and I no longer worry about those who don’t. This shift brought me peace, clarity, and a deeper respect for both my energy and others’ journeys.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back and choose again, I would still choose this path without hesitation. Helping others is not just what I do it’s who I am. I receive messages regularly from people sharing how Fearless Hearts has supported them, reminded them they’re not alone, or helped them see life differently. Those moments confirm that the work is meaningful, impactful, and worth every step of the journey.
