We recently connected with BINXIO and have shared our conversation below.
Hi BINXIO, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I have been attending local shows in my community since high school, it began with the South Florida hardcore scene. Many of my friends played in bands like Beneath The Hands of War, Kill Jasper, Fall of a Hero, In The Aftermath, The Paper Tragedies, and Brand Name Punk.
Once I got a job I had more money to attend events like Vans Warped Tour and other bigger touring bands.
I never thought at that time that music was something I had a knack for but I enjoyed the dive bar atmosphere and the familiar faces that emerged in the scene. It felt safe and predictable. We built a community that to this day is bound by a nostalgic brotherhood.
Through all of that I never thought I had it in me.
Around 2020 I found myself gravitating towards the South Florida Goth Scene. It started with Night Shift, a reoccurring party usually hosted at the corner. Around 2023 I started attending events hosted by Hexed Miami. Most of my friends in this scene are DJ’s and event organizers.
After watching strong female DJ’s such as Ciguapa, Shirllegion and DJ Rippinkittin, throwing danceable parties my best friend VIMP and I decided becoming DJ’s was a way for us to perform together when going out to these types of events. When I started contemplating playlists I figured it would be fun to make some songs to play for myself.
And that’s how I released my first single “La Llorona”.
I did not have high expectations for how my song would be received but the response was overwhelmingly positive.
This proved to me that my musical abilities are not limited to only playing songs by those who inspire me but to also create songs that inspire others.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Binxio, Cuban singer songwriter from Miami Florida with a current focus on post punk. I became interested in performing after becoming partnered with Twitch and Kick. I started a monthly art contest for my viewers to encourage them to push their creative boundaries. A lot of them took up making music for the first time. After they pushed me to give it a try myself I decided to dive into the world of song writing, I partnered with local creatives to release my first single and I am currently working on my first collab project with a local artist.
This will be my first English project !

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest lesson I had to unlearn was the idea that there is limit to what we can achieve.
My parents grew up in a different time, my mother always told me traveling was something completely unobtainable and inconvenient but as I got older I realized there are tons of ways to travel the world affordably and there are ways to make money while doing so.
I began setting a new years resolution so outlandish that it couldn’t “possibly” come true.
And every time, it did come true.
The moment you decide to believe in yourself is the day your dreams become goals.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
As I am just starting the goal I have for music is pretty simple. It has always been my dream to travel for work.
I hope to one day DJ at a goth party in Tokyo with the friends I made there in 2025.
When it comes to music I want to incorporate streaming and host virtual dance parties in 3D spaces like VR chat, FFXIV and Roblox.
Dancing is therapy for my friends and I, no matter what happens in our lives we can always find each other on the dance floor.
Living in Miami makes this extremely accessible however there are many people who live in remote places where a virtual dance floor could bring the same amount of relief, joy and community.
