Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bernice Loman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Bernice, thanks for joining us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
If I could go back in time, I would have started my business sooner. I started my business while working a 9-5. It was a leap of faith for me. I was nervous yet excited at the same time. Later in my entrepreneurial journey, I learned about the business capital, grants and resources available for minority business owners like myself. I would have love to have started my business during my early 20’s but I believe that all things work together for the good. I now take my experience and share with others including young entrepreneurs.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I didn’t come from an entrepreneurial family. In fact, I’m the only one in my immediate family to start & own a business. My journey started when I enrolled into college as a business major. My business classes were so inspiring. After I left my hometown, I began reading more and taking action with what I learned. My Bachelor’s degree is in business administration & management and I later pursued earning my master’s degree in business administration. The more I studied & researched major business companies, I was intrigued by their model and I started researching what it would like to have a company of my own and create a business model. I always, as I can remember, have been creative. Some way or another, I would create music, designs, videos or some sort of innovation. Seeing others being blessed with my creative abilities inspired me. In 2012, I took the leap to start Loman Creative Services. One of our first services were website design, graphic design, training and videography. I notice that brands needed a fresh & creative look and needed the tools to expand their brand. Loman Creative Services later expanded to more services since then. We are a one-stop shop for branding, marketing & tech. Learn more about us at www.lomancreativeservices.com
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I transitioned from my 9-5 to full-time business, I had to pivot. It required a leap of faith and strategy. I believe that faith without works is dead. My transition required more than my faith but sacrifice, strategy, a team, and so much more! I remember hiring a virtual assistant to manage the workload so that I can effectively exit. I learned what it’s like to have an exit strategy, plan and execute.
My second most favorably pivot in business is shifting from 2d to 3d. Loman Creative Services is now in the metaverse. We have metaverse consultations, workshops and metaverse services.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Automation!!! That’s the key! I built my audience on social media through automation. Having a strategy works.
