We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Autumn Rogers. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Autumn below.
Autumn, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Oh I knew pretty early on, I wanted to be a superstar! I started singing at the age of three, in the backseat of my moms car and I stole the show from my sister — unintentionally. From then on I’ve performed on various live stages, wedding venues, live streams, you name it. When I sing, I feel free, I feel good. If you feel it in your heart and you get really excited when you think about what makes you feel free, thats your dream. One thing I’ll say is…”never be afraid to go after your dreams. Follow your passion(s) because God gave it to you for a reason!”.
I will always be a singer at heart, but im many things. I’m also a content creator and influencer who focuses on mental health. Your mind has to be right, before you can pursue other things. Your mental has to he healthy – mental health is wealth! I enjoy being on camera and capturing important moments in my life because it allows me to freely and creatively express. The cherry on top is…the influence I have on others. I enjoy making others feel good and understood, as I always say!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Autumn, Like the Season! I am a Houston native who enjoys making music, creating content and influencing a community in need of mental health advocacy. I began singing at a young age and have been singing since! Fun fact: I’ve auditioned for “The Voice” TWICE.
I’m a social butterfly who enjoys bringing out the greatness in others. I started creating content because I wanted to live a lucrative, stress free and passive lifestyle. I’ve always been inspired by other influencers to step out and go for it and its proven to be therapeutic and a fun way to creatively express myself. I’m a MAJOR goof-ball, so im always finding ways to make people laugh — online and offline!
I am also the proud owner and founder of THABRAIDPLUG. I am a braider based in Texas, who is mobile and travels to all clients and I specialize in men, women and children braid styles. I’ve been braiding for 6+ years and it has its up’s and down’s but knowing i’m creating something important to me and building an organic following makes it all worth it!

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Yes. Although the dream may sound “cliche” or “unrealistic”, don’t minimize someones craft and passion for said craft. We are humans who require creativity and expression, in whichever way that may be and it looks different for everybody. But allow us and those who you know want to be creatives (full-time) and innovators to freely express without negativity or judgement. As kids we were able to freely dream and as we grow through life, who says you have to stop having those same dreams? You don’t strip that away from someone because to them, that’s their outlet and their means of solidarity and expression. Content creating, influencing, and digital marketing systems are notable career paths, in similarity to positions in government, corporate settings and other career positions. Our dreams mean what they mean to us so allow us to grow in that and ALWAYS be adaptable, in anything you do.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is being able to know and see the influence I have on my communities. It makes me feel internally grateful and really good to know that someone was uplifted, inspired or motivated by an action I put out. I’m such an optimist and I want to put out into the world what I’d like to receive in return.
Travel!! Go places and see the world. I flew to Atlanta for ONE DAY to audition for a record label and it was worth it. FOLLOW. YOUR. DREAMS.
I’ll say this: be passionate about your crafts and talents and ensure you do it for the fulfillment of self and the fulfillment of God. When you do that, you naturally rub off on others because it comes from a genuine place and thats your means of innovation. It only takes one time and one word of mouth moment and you’re bringing brightness back into someones life.
